Mikey Mikey Mikey... and Shitfish: Thursday 18th September, 1997

Shitfish played their second gig, again supporting and being supported by brother band, the amazing Haemoglobin. Unfortunately, the audience was pathetic, but the bands managed to entertain a small pack of 'groupies'. In fact, there was irony in the fact that the audience consistented mostly of people who went with the sole purpose of seeing the bands. Regardless, the groupies were entertained!

In the days preceding the gig, Haemoglobin found themselves without a bass player, and Shitfish's Mookie Blaylock volunteered himself as a temporary replacement. Shitfish's set was successful yet several songs fell apart. It seemed that at many times the band lost track of a song's structure, but they managed to pulled themselves together for the two standout performances, the band's 'anthem', Small Opinion White Noticeboard and the new Shimmy.

After their set songs, the band entertained the crowd despite Paul's headache with several requests including Heart Shaped-Box. Then, Andrew, Jacob and Mookie launched into a twenty-minute jam that entertained the band even if it didn't entertain the audience. They were joined by Hameoglobin lead singer, David Sirianni, for a rendition of the Pearl Jam classic Black, and brother Andrew Sirianni for a Shitfish interpretation of the James Brown songs, Hot Pants and Sex Machine.

No more to see, please move on...
