Lone Star Classics LS427 (Cobra replica)
I built an Cobra replica in 1993. I chose a Lone Star Classics Deluxe kit. I had multiple reasons for doing so. First, and foremost, I felt real comfortable doing business with the people. People make the company and they have one fine group of people.Second, was price. The price of their LS427 kit is very competitive. They can hold the line against anyone. Just ask. Third, they are very nearby and subsequently save me a bundle on crating, shipping & handling!Fourth, customer service... All I can say is for you to do business with them yourself. You'll see what I mean. They are very customer & customer service oriented.I will enter some specs and such later. It went 10.67 at 134.4 for you 1/4 mile types.Oh, yeah. Psst! It was powered by Chevrolet!Sorry Ford fans... I was after ultimate performance.
1977 Chevrolet Monza Mirage

At the ripe old age of 15 (and 1 month), my mother bought my first car. A new, very limited edition, Chevrolet Monza. They were only built one year, 1977.I have very few pictures, however, I'll try to get one off of another web sight, or give you a link. They only came in white, with red and blue stripes over the hood, roof and rear hatch. It also had stripes down the side and the words MONZA Mirage on the door. The real distinction was the fender panels, air dam and rear spoiler.Mine was a 305 V-8 w/ automatic, as were most of them. Some were V-6 w/ automatics, or 5 speeds.
1979 Chevrolet 1/2 ton SWB Pick-up
Lord! I hate to even talk about the truck. I mean themoney pit. I bought the truck without seeing it. Ilearned a lot from that transaction. That will never happen with me again. The Truck: I bought a 1979 Chevrolet 1/2 ton pick-up. It was an origional Big Block truck. It, however, did not havethe origional engine in it. I knew that when I boughtit. I paid to much for it and got the big shaft!I put a new Chevrolet 502 crate motor in it, as wellas a TH-700R4 overdrive trans. I drove it for a shortwhile. I broke down and started a full restoration.I went so far as to sandblast and recoat the frame...Rhino coated the cab inside and out... Auburn posi...3.40 Richmond gears... Forged axles... Rhino linedthe bed... and on... and on... and on...Then scrapped the project. I sold the engine to a manfor his boat, sold the trans, sold the rest to mybrother very cheap! It turns out that it was one of the most expensive projects that I've ever undertaken. Then quit.My wife was very impressed!
