Call it Dark Side of the rainbow. Classic rockers are buzzing about the amazingly weird connections that leap off the screen when you play Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" as the soundtrack to "The Wizard of Oz" MGM. Other thing to ponder. Dark sides cover has a rainbow on it. On the Pulse cover you can see in the outer part of the eye, The cast and some of the items from Oz. Here are some of the synchonicities in the movie:

Get your popcorn, the movie is about to start
The movie starts out with "Speak to me" during the credits. The first scene is a black and white scene. The song Breathe is playing and Dorothy is balancing on the fence to the lyric"Balanced on the Biggest wave". Then"On the Run" starts just as Dorothy falls off of the fence. This seams to create a much darker feel for the movie. Auntie Em is yelling to Dorothy, just as you hear a voice in the background, the voice stops so does Auntie Em. You hear"Look around, Choose your own ground" Dorothy turns around and looks down. As Dorothy is singing "Somewhere over the rainbow." She will often look up, at the planes flying over in the music. Toto appears to be laughing at Dorothy as the laugh is heard in the background. The Wicked Witch (before Oz) first appears on her bike at the same moment a burst of alarm bells sounds on the album, They fade as she gets off the bike. She then gets hit by the fence to the beat of the music. The music changes tone as Dorothy shifts her attention to different characters. You can read "Past, Present and Furture" on a sign outside the fortunetellers during the solo to "Time". The fortuneteller told Dorothy that she needs to go home just as the lyric "Home, Home again." is sung. Dorothy then breaks into a trot to the line"no one told you when to run". Then Glinda, the Good Witch of the north, appears in her bubble just as the band sings,"Don't give me that do-goody-goody bullshit". The song "Great Gig in the Sky" begins just as Dorothy leaves the fortunetellers. (You can see the tornado in the back ground) When Dorothy gets knocked out the singer tones down and sings softly until the house lands. "Great Gig in the Sky" ends when the house lands and Dorothy wakes up. It seems that Dorothy opens her eyes just as the music changes. The sounds of"Money" bring in the color part of the movie at the same time that Dorothy opens the front door to her house. You can hear "and racing around to came up behind you again" from "Time" as the camera changes and shows Dorothy from behind.

Colored side of the moon
Enter the Munchkins. The title "Us and Them" becomes very evident in the first scene with the Munchkins. They Dance to the music, and one seems to walk the screen while groving to the bass line. "Us,Us,Us" is heard when you see the ballerinas enter, then the Lollipop Guild enter on "me,me,me" Again they seem to give the lollipop to Dorothy on the beat. Dorothy turns to face forward on "Forward he cried". The Good Witch seems to sway to the music, even moves her fingers in the way of playing the guitar. The Wicked Witch appears on the words "Black.Black." The words up, up" are sung as the Wicked Witch is on top of the platform. Then "Down. Down" are sung as she walks down from the platform. Sung when the Wicked Witch of the East disappears is "And in the End". "Out.out.out" is sung as the Good Witch Disappears.

Enter Scarecrow
When Scarecrow is dancing you can see him dance to the music from the song "Brain Damage." Is the lyric "The lunatic is on the grass" in "Brain Damage" pointing out the way the Scarecrow acts? As Dorothy and the Scarecrow start traipsing down the Yellow Brick Road you hear "the lunatic is on the grass."

Get your oil it's the Tin Man
As Dorothy is pounding on Tin Man's chest you an hear the Heart beat. The album seem to follow the movie as it starts over. The album starts over with the Heart beat. The Tin Man starts to dance to the beat of the music.

The roar like no other
The Lion seems to conduct the misic as he speaks. There appears to be a saxophone he's playing, as you hear the sax in the background. Also you see the Lion roar when the song roars. A bat flies past the screen while an airplane flies by in the music.

A Gem in the rough
Dorothy falls down to the music. The horse and other characters in the castle move to the beat. The horse also changes colors to the order of the colors in the rainbow. In the Wizards room the fire shoots up to the music. The Lion jumps out of the window to Down, Down." "Forward he cried" is heard just as the Tin Man tells the Lion to go forward.

Home, Home again
The words "Home,Home again" are sung just as Dorothy opens her eyes. In the end when the Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man are talking to Dorothy you hear "and in the end, we're only ordinary men." The music changes at the end of the credits.
