Camaro 30th Anniversary Edition

1997 Celebrated the 30th birthday of the Chevrolet Camaro.
Chevrolet went all out for this birthday bash and offered several unique
Camaros that were very distinctive and easily identifiable as 30th Anniversary models.

Lets start with the Z28. The convertible pictured above is adorned with Hugger Orange
stripes, white lacquer wheels, and white leather anniversary seats. These white leather
seats were only available with the 30th anniversary option.
The option was available on the convertible or coupe.

The standard interior with the anniversary package was a "Houndstooth" cloth.
This pattern dates back to '68,'69,'70 era when this pattern first gained it's popularity.
30th anniversary logos are quite visible with these seats. However, all 1997 Camaros
had the 30th logo stitched into it's seats, independent of which model it was.
Only the white/orange anniversary package had the red, white, blue highlights.

Only a few hundred of these Brickyard 400 Pace Cars were built.

The fastest, most powerful anniversry model was the Camaro SS.
All performance options carried over. The Hugger Orange stripes
"hugged" the hood scoop as it traveled over the car. The 17" SS
specific wheels were lacquered in white just like the Z28.
White leather or "Houndstooth" cloth were the interior choices.
13 sec. 1/4 miles were extremely easy with the standard LT-1.
Only 100 models were produced with the more powerful LT-4.

Here's a twist!
This is the SLP show car powered by an LT-4 with polished aluminum wheels.
It's Hugger Orange in color with white stripes. This is the only one that was made.

We may see this color in 1999!!
