History of My Monte
What Monte has gone through while in my possesion.
I bought my car at the age of 14 when the was ten years old. I would have taken any car that I could have gotten my hands on. But i lucked out and found a wonderful piece of machinery. The car has been stolen from the origional owner, I don't know any of the story but I know the owner before me bought it to fix it up, but he didn't get the chance and I was given the chance to buy it.
After I bought the car I still had to wait until I was legally allowed to drive it. Once driven it started to make a knocking sound at low rpms. I asked several mechanics if they could ID the sound but no luck. Gradually the knock got worse ad worse, and I didn't have the money to do the work needed so i kept driving it. Then finally one day i started it up and it was the worst sound i've ever heard. A whole lot of clanking and it was just like hell, i shut off the car and restarted it, the knocking was gone but every gear was like park. Then it sat for approximaltly 22 months.

Rebirth of My Monte Carlo SS
For over a year my car sat in my drive way up on jack stands dying to be fixed. With little money and no one really helping me at the age of 15 I was as lost as could be. I knew my uncle was in to hot rodding and stuff like that but i knew little of anything at the time. One day after a day at the beach a friend and I stopped my uncles house and we got to talking and one of his friends was over and turns out that he's a Monte freak, he owns a 85 that he's spent about 30,000 in so far, and he had many other cars worth noting. But he said he could build me an engine for bout 4200, that would include 300 hp engine, tranny, and posi-rearend. Which sounded good to me, I told him i would keep in touch and when i had the money to continue i would let him know. When i had sufficient fundage to do what i wanted via bank loan, i couldn't get a hold of him, he was no where to be found, so I talked to my uncle for a while and he showed me a summit magazine and a few other magazines that had done reviews on their longblocks and he said that we would be able to do the work if I wanted to go that route. He wrote me up a list of parts and such that I would need and went through one by one describing and showing me what they were. I decided that I couldn't let my Monte sit there any longer so I gave him the thumbs up and strait to the phone with summit he went. In no time a 363 horse long block was delivered and we finally towed my car to a third guys house. My uncles friend that had plenty of space to work on a car on his property. We worked on weekends mostly with a weekday here or there but it was one of the greatest experiences of my life getting to help build up my pride and joy
