About 15 Light Years from the Sol system the Vulcan ship sits in
real space. Leroy is as impressed as possible (for a human Protector) with
the ship. Its small, spartan but still complex with a certain elegant
artistry to the technology. It had taken Leroy more than 15 minutes to
break the encryption on the ships computer and since then the computer
has been playing select portions of its memory to him as fast as Leroy
could take it. He paused the computer voice briefly to listen to the muffled
sounds of Wes Crusher struggling in the storage closet. He projected a
number of times and methods that the young human might escape his confinement
and was prepared for them all. Keying up everything on Protomatter and
the Genesis project Leroy returned to the science lab and to the now disassembled
Genesis device. This device was fiercely complex even for his Protector
intelligence to grasp all at once. But he was learning and already felt
confident that even if he should fail to stop the Empire he could easily
use Genesis technology to rapidly and safely terra form another planet
into a virtual paradise for the Human species to start again. In another
corner of the lab a second small project was running. Leroy quickly checked
on it while the computer continued to recite the complex internal workings
of the Genesis device. When Leroy first awoke as a Protector he had found
a small printout left by the funny two headed alien. It explained briefly
who he was, what had happened to him and what dangers the Earth and humanity
were facing. It also explained that he could eat almost anything to nourish
his body, but there was no more Tree-of-Life virus to be found except on
the Pak home world. Without Tree-of-Life the Protector stage human would
eventually die and the amount of virus in Leroys blood was finite. The
one thing the two headed alien never counted on was the excellent medical
facilities aboard the Vulcan ship. Isolating the virus from a small sample
of his own blood Leroy now also worked at getting the virus to grow and
live in the lab. If this project was a success then Leroy could extend
his life indefinitely, and should he require it add an ally or two. The
Tree-of-Life would be humanities fail-safe against all outside threats...

*Docking his ship inside a hangar bay, Cyborg Stan strides towards
Jadesfire's position. It appears that the Emperor has managed to escape
destruction aboard his flagship. It is possible to kill him, but between
his armor and his skills, he would be a most difficult foe to beat. Splitting
his long staff into two mirrored pieces, he attaches a small device to
each end, and plugs the staffs into the recharger. A few minutes later,
he switches both on, and two very deadly Warp Blades issue forth....*

The Vulcan regains consciousness before Darva does, and quickly
sneaks off to find a way to contact his probe fleet. Finding a small scanner
station, he nerve-pinches the two crewmen on duty, and begins to re-tune
the equipment.

*Taking the scenic route, the Emperor visits many points of 'interest'
aboard the SSD while pinpointing Jadesfire's current location. The reactor
control room's power flickers and vanishes, the manual override having
been tripped. With multiple simultaneous explosions, the doors of the darkened
room vanish in the actinic glare of thermal detonators. In the next instant,
flares and nerve-gas grenades are lobbed through the openings. Not even
the Jedi breath-holding trick can save Jadesfire, as nerve gas is lethal
through skin absorption. Then mind-controlled stormtroopers behind shielded
e-web repeating heavy blasters fill the room with lethal energy. Caught
between the E-webs in a room rapidly turning lethal with nerve gas, Jadesfire
lashes out with her mind while ducking behind a heavy console, attempting
to sieze mental control of a group of stormtroopers while deflecting the
continuous blasts tracking towards her* Jadesfire - "Why can't I take control!?
He's GOT to be closer to one group than another.." *Thus fully occupied,
her mind racing to find a way out of the nerve-gassed room while her sabre
swings continuously to deflect blaster shots coming from multiple directions,
she does not notice a shadow fall towards her from an overhead ramp. Head
first. The Emperor, being very nearly equidistant with the stormtroopers
as herself and a bit stronger with the Force, has maintained an iron grip
on their minds. Igniting his lightsabre at the last instant, he knocks
her lightsabre away a split second before crashing unceremoniously into
her. The blaster fire ceases. The nerve gas was a sham, intended to distract
her mentally. The Emperor stands behind a stunned Jadesfire, wraps his
arm around her neck and drags her up to a her feet. Clutched in the hand
was a thermal detonator just inches from her face.* "Are you ready to surrender
now, my lovely Sith?"

At that very moment, a large purple cartoon dinosaur drops from
Lurkerspace into that very room! Knocking both Jadesfire and the Emperor
down (in different directions) with his sudden return to Posterspace, the
dinosaur gives a joyful dance and bounces out of the nearest door, with
horrified stormtroopers fleeing in all directions. BARNEY LIVES!!!

Working quickly, the Vulcan contacted the probes and ordered two
of them to break off from debris-sweeping and await him outside the Dreadnaught.
Then he turned to one of the unconscious crewmen and placed a hand on the
man's temple...

Meanwhile, the remaining probes headed over to above Australia,
setting their phaser arrays to "wide-beam", and began to vaporise some
of the mass of dust emerging from the volcano. There was far too much for
their limited firepower to destroy all of it, but they could try...

Knocked a short distance away, the Emperor, being armored, suffers
much less of a physical impact than Jadesfire. She is fast though, and
in a flash her fallen lightsabre is in her hands. Standing up, she again
faces the E-webs.. and the Emperor. As the circle each other, the Emperor
uses a small portion of his mental powers, and freezes the idiotic toon
just outside the door. Then, with a horrible scream, the purple dinosaur
is squashed into a smaller and smaller volume until it is shoved and sealed
inside a radioactive fuel pellet container the size of a fist. The Stupid
Purple Menace To Intricate Plots being thus neutralized, the overwhelmingly
unfair mexican standoff resumes. Admiral Jadesfire, smirking defiantly
against the Emperor, stands her ground. Then.. in a blur of motion, lightsabres
clash, and she's in the duel of her life.
