Chaos. Ghost-Jadesfire held onto the resonance of her clone, trying
to stay anchored to the real world, as the entire sum of the evils perpetuated
by human cultures was seared into her mind....Elisia was writhing on the
floor, and Alius...her clone was leaning against the wall, screaming....

Mel, on the Far Star, only got a slight jolt, and the phenomenon
passed through the Interdictor with few casualties....

On Earth, the damage was minimal. A few woodlice had exploded spontaneously,
but other than that....

Erisai staggered and fell to the floor as the effects of the Manos
Ray hit her.The Xanarious were mildly concussed, but the Vulcans...their
attempt to make logical sense out of the madness made the mental torture
even more excruciating....

The disorder reached to the outer system, to Zergfire and the Protector.
Zergfire awakened, emerald eyes opening for the first time..._threat_...she
thought..... The Protector....perhaps it was most hard hit of all....it's
owerpowerered brain attempting to parsse what to Leroy would be instinctual
but to it was completely and utterly alien....and still the chaos spread....

Unknown to most people, life _does_ have a cheat mode. But only
one person had ever found it.....

Mel, noticing the carnage going on around him, brushed Darva aside
as he repositioned the Far Star's sensors to track the current goings on.
Noting Mech's predicament, Mel felt a twinge of justice that, in this universe,
sometimes accounts do balace. He saw as Mech clutched the weapon 'Odd,'
Mel thought. 'He doesn't seem willing to actually fire it.' Then, as his
will gave way, the Manos effect radiated outward. It had little effect
on him as an inorganic being, but immediately, alarms blared on the Far
Star. Whatever this was, it's effects rivaled the makeshift Psi Scramber
he had cobbled from spare Imperial parts. This was not good. Completely
flatfooted, he decided nonetheless to capitalize the oppurtuninity. Opening
communication with his Spider clone (author's note: Thought I'd forgotten
about that, eh?), he directed one toward Elisia. Using it's manipulators,
it managed to deposit a few specially crafted neural stimulation nanos
into her system. They would multiply, and take residence in Elisia's cerebellum
and motor control areas. This way, Mel could get her to the Far Star for
a quick getaway. He saw her rise. Quickly, she made her way to the ship,
with an entourage of spiders who were controlling the movements. Coming
aboard, Mel helped her onto a medical bed and deactivated the nanos, placing
Elisia in a restraining field, under full sedation. Looking out the viewport,
Mel could see that things were still chaos. Directing the ship, he maeuvered
it past the BoP, only nudging her 30 degrees to the left in the process,
setting off most of the pranks and booby traps left on the ship. In space,
Mel put the ship at maximum velocity, wanting to forget all about this
incident.
