The Story
Ok, This is an interesting one. I was sitting around one day,
extremely bored with nothing to do, drinking beer and watching
the movie Monster Squad with a couple of friends. In this movie
the head monster a Vampire has a black Hearse that just looked
truely evil. So I said to my friends "man woud it be cool to
have a Hearse of my own". That comment resulted in some
strange looks *L*. For some reason this thought stuck with me.
Two weeks later I started my search for the perfect Hearse. I
began by contacting local funeral homes in the Kentucky area
(where I was stationed at the time) and to my surprise I found
that just about every funeral home had one or two that were for
sale . It appears there is not a big resale market for Hearse's.
That weekend I went on a worldwind tour of Funeral Homes. I
finaly decided on the one you see below. Can you believe it only
had 35,000 miles on the clock, nice easy slow miles I might add.
The body and interior were in perfect condition and the rear
electric coffin rack was in perfect working order. And as an
added bonus the owner even let me keep all of the dried flowers
that were in the back from the last "Delivery"
*L*". And best of all the asking price was $600.00 , can you
believe that? I bought it on the spot! This is the only pics I
could find of my beautiful hearse. After I bought it I had it
repainted Midnight Black as it should of been originaly *S*. I
installed a 500 Watt stereo system with all of the speakers box
mounted and attached to the coffin rack so they could be
electricly slid out of the back for parking lot/river parties.
The beast had a 472 C.I. Big Block with an automatic tranny and
could snap you back into your seat so hard you would of thought
you had whiplash. I finaly sold it about a year later to finance
a new project. If you are interested in owning your own hearse
e-mail me and I can give you some tips on what to look for in a
good one.
