Overview from the information given by the '99 Auto Show in New York.

Toyota is proud of its environmental accomplishments, including efforts to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing plants, recycle various scrap and waste by-products, and use certain recycled materials in manufacturing. Our commitment to zero- and low-emission transportation is finding expression in the development and marketing of an expanding range of greener vehicles. Toyota also supports numerous environmental education programs in the U.S. and abroad. This logo symbolizes the entire spectrum of Toyota's worldwide environmental concerns.

Toyota's RAV4 EV for your fleet. It's truly a breath of fresh air. Seating for five with four doors. Plenty of convered cargo room with an 827-lb. payload. The ride height, comfort and style of a sport utility vehicle. Plus 126 combined city/highway miles per charge. And now a choice of inductive or conductive charging. Toyota's RAV4 EV. You may not be able to tell you're driving an electric vehicle. But the environment can.

In the world of small electric vehicles, Toyota's e*com concept car stands tall. The e*com is ideal for use at planned communities, resorts, universities and corporate campuses. The e*com offers a range of approximately 60 miles on a single charge, with a top speed of 62 mph. A technologically advanced regenerative braking system returns energy to the batteries and extends range. The versatile, economical e*com. It's big news.

Now there is a natural meeting of vehicle efficiency and environmental concern. Introducing the CNG Camery gives you all the roomines, comfort and safety features of Toyota's most popular sedan, plus the reduced exhaust emissions and expected lower operating costs of compressed natural gas. The CNG Camry can be refueled wherever natural gas service is available. And since compressed natural gas is a domestically abundant natural resource, it is usually less expensive than gasoline. So take the natural course of action. Toyota's CNG Camry for your fleet.

Toyota's Prius. Nothing like it exists. And no automotive system today can match its combination of performance, fuel economy and low emissions. Prius, the world's first mass-produced hybrid vehicle, is powereed by the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) - a revolutionary union of a super-efficient gasoline engine and an electric motor. Prius has an on board system that recharges the batteries while the vehicle is being driven, so there's no need to "plug into" any outside charing source. Prius, as currently available in Japan, gets twice the mileage of conventional cars and greatly reduces emissions. In the future, a version of the remarkable Prius will be built specially for the U.S. Look for one at a spaceport near you.
