How to Modify your IROC

Engine Tuning Tips
First, I would recommend a thorough tune-up. Next, go to Home Depot. For $15 you can buy parts to build a ram air system for your Tuned Port IROC. For instructions go to IROC Online, click on tech area.
From there, find the mass airflow sensor on the car. There is a screen in front of this sensor. If you remove it you can gain 5-15hp, but be careful not to damage the sensor, they cost $350!
Probably the easiest way to gain horses is by installing K&N Filters. Its so easy your girlfriend/wife could do it. Just buy (TWO) of them at Auto Zone.
For 15hp for $40 install a TPI Airfoil. This device allows air to flow more freely through the plenum. Install this part in your throttle body. You can it, like everything in this list, from Summit Racing Equipment. You want more power? Well, then install a 52mm Throttle Body, but remember to remove the TPI Airfoil fromt he old TB and place it on the new one. There is also a 58mm TB, but its too big for the 350 IROC, you will lose low-end power.
Next, get ya some headers! These are good, they increase horsepower by 10%.
Do you want cyl heads or just port the old ones. You decide, but porting is much cheaper. it also adds 40hp!
Want 35 more horses, get a cam from SLP. They have a 206-212 duration, so its just right!
Also from TPIS is a mini-ram intake manifold, this works wonders so log on to www.TPIS.com to see.
Also, you can use underdrive, oversized pulleys. They add 20-35hp if installed properly.
Something extra, you can add a timing cahin and cover, it looks good, and it give accurate timing.
Also consider a fuel regulator. If you have a mechanical fan, then convert it to an electric fan. This adds 15hp.
I've also heard that Hypertech Powerchip are good, but if you get one then get the Thermomaster.
Also get the Hypertech distributor, this adds 5hp.
Lastly, get a stroker or a supercharger, not both. Preferablely a stroker would be better though.
I hope these mods help you, and thanks for reading.
