MITSUBISHI'S 2000 Eclipse
 
 
 
The next Ecplise, due out sometime this summer, will hase some big changes.  First off it will no longer be a turbo car.  Instead a naturally breathing V-6 willl be used iinstead.  Also the only drivetrain available will  be front wheel-drive.

The interior will also be redesinged with a sweeping sophisticated cabin.  White dials will adorn the instrument panel, an addition made in the '99 model.  The flat-shaded sliver accent pices are a nice touch.  Also the handbrake had moved to the drivers side of the center console.
 
 
 
It looks nice, but has less power.  It's 0-60 is several 10ths off from the turbo Eclipse, if that really matters.  I thinkk it was a bad idea to scrap the all wheel-drive though.  That was what originally attracted me to the Eclipse over cars like the Mustang and the Prelude.  But Mitsubishi is playng to the largest market of front-wheel drivers who want a car and not a thrill.
