All About Me!

My girlfriend and I at MGM Studios
My name is Mike, I am 22 years old and I am a multimedia major at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  So what is a multimedia major?  We can do many computer graphics related tasks including interactive multimedia, video editing and computer animation.  But I can do much more than that because I was a computer science major for three years before I switched to multimedia.  So I can do the technical and creative sides of projects.

I owe much of my current talent to three of my High School teachers, Mrs. Carolyn Marsh (art), Mrs. Jami Fanning (art) and Mr Jeff Kimball (computer programming and Star Wars).  I almost had decided to go into graphics right out of high school, but I opted for computer science instead.  Mostly due to the lack of close schools for computer animation.  But at UMKC I get a great overview of al the aspects and still have a chance to focus on parts I want more expierience in.

Here is a picture of my graphics studio
The main part of my studio is a G3 300 Mhz Power Mac.  It has everything I need to do DV editing, computer animation and interactive multimedia projects.  It has grown a bit since this photo, but you get the point.  The main edition to my studio was the purchase of a Sony digital video recorder and a cd-r.  I also have an older Pentium computer used for various things when my Mac is busy rendering or whatever.  I hope to add an SGI 320 workstation soon.

My current class projects are an adaptation of the Divine Comedy which is a group project and then an original story called Xamots Adventure in a Myst style format.  Check them out below
