Unveiled in January 1990, the Bertone styled Lamborghini Diablo, originally known as "Project 132", became an instant success with 98 produced in its first year of production. This car was named after the legendary bull "Diablo" that fought "El Chicorro", another legendary bull, in July 1869. At first, the demand for these new Diablos was so high that the workforce was expanded to 459 to keep up with the orders. A Diablo roadster prototype was built in 1992 and was put on display at the Geneva auto show. The next March, the all wheel drive Diablo VT(Viscious Traction) was introduced at the same show. The Diablo SE30, commemorating the 30th anniversary of Automobili Lamborghini, was introduced in the summer of 1994. The Jota upgrade package was introduced in 1995. The Diablo Roadster finally came in 1996 and the new Diablo SV(Sport Veloce) came a year after. Lamborghini makes only 250 vehicles per year and there is an 8 month waiting list to pay over $200,000 US for one.
The engine is a 5.7 liter/348
