The first Georgian Black Metal band PERGAMO was formed in 1996
by Michael Chkhaidze, also known as Badagon (vocals, guitars, keyboards). First
three-track demo “Dualistic” was recorded in October ’96 together with V.D.
Knight (vocals, guitars, bass), Nemesis (keyboards) and Drum-computer. This
tape was played in several radios. In 1997 “Grandeur” (drums) and “Caesar” (bass)
joined the band. First live act was concert in underground club in 13 December
1997 (as foreband on this act played gothic-doom band "Last Supper").
After some line-up changes in August ’98 Pergamo recorded the mini-album “Way
to Erebos”. All vocals, guitars and keyboards played by Badagon (“Caesar” did
session bass; after recording he was replaced by "Lostsoul"). There
is no live drums on this album. Two tracks from this album was included in Georgian
Metalcompilation ''METALSTORM'' (December '98). Now Pergamo is working on second
mini-album with workstitle “Black is my soul” and conceptual full-length album
“Medea, queen of love, sin and vengeance”.
