What people are saying about Aqua:
"A great colour for the summer" - K-mart spokesperson
"Dermed' har gruppen faet 90'-ernes storste gennembrud I Danmark,
med deres hardtpumpede og energifyldte pop." - Fyns Stiftstidende
"For more Aqua information, read below. " -- AMP
Aqua is comprised of an ex game show hostess a la Vanna White,
an award-winning break-dancer who used to work on a cruise-ship, a gas
station attendant who also happened to score one of the most popular Danish
kiddie films and a science-minded gent turned seamster. Aqua is also one
of the most refreshing acts to break onto the pop/ club scene. The debut
album Aquarium is a water-inspired trip through catchy pop hooks
and unforgettable computer beats which leaves the listener feeling like
a fixture in a Technicolor fairy tale gone modern.
We don't need to tell you how well this band has already done in Scandinavia
(the #1 album is Quintuple-Platinum in Denmark) and is currently doing
on our fair North American shores ("Barbie Girl" is EVERYWHERE) because
you'll figure it out for yourselves after listening to the album. The first
song on Aquarium is "Happy Boys & Girls" - a reference to the
Aqua quartet as well as the audience after bopping along to the music.
Aquarium is unadulterated fun - stimulating to the senses, trippy
and even exciting. AMP guarantees that even the most staid member of any
household - including Amish ones - would be unable to sit still during
the Middle-Easternish dance motif beautifully delivered by Norwegian siren
Lene in "Roses Are Red" or the sing-along excitement generated by the memorable
chorus of "Barbie Girl."
In further honor of Aqua, Amp wants you to learn Danish. By connecting
you to the Aqua website, we are relieving our own burden as information
purveyors while helping you expand intellectually. Ah, jeg be'r. Of course,
after reading more about Aqua you might be swayed to write them a note
using your newfound Danish vernacular. We strongly suggest it. |
