CRASHES

August 11, 1988 at a sponsorship launch for Bathurst, Glenn destroyed the $300 000 Nissan skyline. It happened on the 8th lap. His car went straight ahead on the right hand corner leaving conrod straight into caltex chase. His exit speed off the track was about 200km/h. Glenn's car travelled sidways for quite a distance and then rolled over twice before coming to a hault. Glenn 23 at the time was shaken but luckily escaped serious injury apart form minor head bruising, which was caused by hitting his head on the roll cage. Glenn said afterwards, "I came to the kink, hit a bump and the car just took off."

In 1989 at Lakeside, Glenn ploughed into the front of Andrew Miedecke's car severely damaging his Peter Jackson sierra. He was extremely lucky it didn't catch fire. His car ended up further down the left hand side of the track, on the back straight. Glenn jumped out of his car in a flash, frantically waving down other cars and trying to direct the fire marshalls to Miedecke's rapidly incinerating car to little avail. The front of his car was destroyed and after inspecting it, the team elected to build a brand new car.

In 1993 Drew Price destroyed one of Glenn's falcons during a test session at Phillip Island. Glenn was giving him a drive in Alan Jones' car with a view to running him in the long distance races later in the year. The damage bill was about $200 000. Drew locked the rear brakes heading towards Honda hairpin at the Island. The car left the track at a very high speed and hit an earth bank at around 200km/h.

In 1997 at the Indy Grand Prix on the Gold Coast Glenn clipped the tyre wall on the entry to the 2nd chicane, with his throttle stuck wide open. His car slid across the track where it was hit hard by 3 holdens in quick succession. Luckily it was Glenn's spare car and not his regular car he uses for the ATCC.
