THE SOUTHERN RACER
BILL HEMBY
Page 1
This is a pictorial history on southern racer, the late Bill Hemby. Bill raced out of the Atlanta, Ga. area and as you will see, he raced 'em all. He started out in the coupes around 1952 where he was quite successful, right through the supermod or skeeter era in the south and right into the more modern times of the late models and the NASCAR Grand American series. Bill was also a car builder as well as driver. Be sure to check out the "Flintstone" page on JIMMIES and see just who was responsible for one of the "most famous" of all southern supermods. Our thanks goes out to Bill Hemby's son Les Hemby for this information and photos. We are glad to be able to share it with our viewers.
