Folks......once in awhile something comes along in life that really "knocks your socks off". That something happened to me a few days ago when I got a phone call from a guy in the state of Montana.

Gary Gudmundson was on the other end of the line with some information I found almost to hard to believe....but it's true! Gary is an "old coupe" fanantic! He lives..to re-live the old days when coupes were the the race car of the day. In his quest to "satisfy" his passion, he has spent over a decade of researching old papers for results of racing in its hayday of the 1950's, searching for old photos of cars that raced in the state of Montana and has personally contacted every living race driver (many deceased drivers wifes and owners, mechanics) in Montana. His mission....collect photos of every coupe that raced in Montana between 1951 and 1958.

He has now pretty much accomplished what he set out to do. He was asking me over and over....."what can I do with this stuff now that I have it"? I suggested a web page on the internet, he's undecided on that. I suggested a book. How many books with this information could he sell...probably only a handful. The cost wouldn't be worth it.

Let's face it....those of us who love the old coupes, while there are many out there, we do this stuff really for our own satisfaction I guess.
