STEVE UNGAR PAGE

Steve Ungar started his racing career in the early 1950's in northern Ohio. Steve was a very successful driver all over the northeast Ohio and western Pa. area for years. He started out in the old coupes and eventually became a very highly regarded sprint car racer. In the late 1960's Steve moved to the southern Ohio area where he again was a top rated driver.

He finished out his career in the sprints in the middle 1970's but not until another Ungar name began to pick up where Steve left off. Steve's son Rick Ungar had begun his career in the southern Ohio/WV area and once Rick's driving career was taking off, that's when Steve decided to "retire". For more on Steve Ungar's career find the article on Steve in these web pages in the RPM Column on the home page. This article was printed on Steve in the western Pa. racing paper RPM Racing News back in May of 1999. Now on to the Steve Ungar Pictorial History.
