              "The Long Haul"
I decided to find out exactly how well Porsches hold up over the years, and to find out how well mine was taken
care of over the past 14 years.  After 5 months in the Middle East with the US Air Force, I returned to a nice sum of
money to travel home on.  So, with the help of Tim Sabelfeldt, I changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, and spark plugs,
a brand new set of Perelli P4000 Super Touring Tires, fixed a leaky sunroof seal and hauled ass from Idaho to
Mississippi via Utah, Colorado, Texas, and Lousiana.  I was extremely suprised to calculate an outstanding 26 1/2
miles per gallon!  Shaggy really turned heads in my hometown, where Porsches are still considered too expensive for
normal folk.  Somewhere in West Texas, I actually topped my car!  Wow!  After 14 years Shaggy is still alive and
kickin!!  Does anyone know how to reduce lift on the front end?  After driving my car for a month, then having it sit
idle for five, I was shocked at the power and driving characteristics!  I know now, I will never own anything but a
Porsche.  It's what driving should be!    ~Solo (April 1999)
