Year: 1987 Make and model: Merkur Xr4ti Modifications: Block: reconditioned rods,forged pistons,ARP rod and main bolts. Cylinder head: stock ford casting, ported and polished intake and exhaust runners.Mark Wells stainless valves,1.88 intake and 1.60 exhaust from Chevy V-8. Ford Motorsport camshaft, .420 lift w/ heavy duty springs from RacerWalsh.Adjustable camshaft gear from RacerWalsh. Upper and Lower intake: Ford casting, ported and polished upper and lower intakes. 65mm throttle body from Tiny Avenger Motorsports. Exhaust Manifold: ford casting,ported and polished. Turbo: factory turbo, compressor housing sanded smoothe internally. Fuel: 35lb injectors, factory pump, crane fuel pressure regulator set to 46psi at idle.(makes the 35lb injectors work like they were 42lb injectors,dyno proven by Tiny Avenger Motorsports) 93 octane w/ 60/40 119 octane mix. fuel pressure gauge. Svo intercooler w/ scoop mounted to it. Bosche blow off valve from Tiny Avenger Motorsports. Boost controller set to 19psi from Tiny Avenger Motorsports. K&N cone air filter. K&N valve cover breather. Thunderbird air vane meter. MSD 6A ignition module MSD coil, Taylor vortex wires,NGK V-Power plugs w/.34 gap Custom Superchip from Superchips. Ignition timing set to 12 degrees. Cam timing currently set to zero. Last current track time before they closed was: Reaction-1.21, 60ft-2.43, 330ft-6.47,1/8-9.73, 1/8mph-77.62. Kinda sucks! This was on street tires(225/50/15) and with the t-9 not speedshifting(have to wait for the rpm's to come down to at least 1200 for 2nd to engage). I believe i have the power, now i just need to get all the drive train up to snuff... I think i may try a t-5 or maybe even the xr4ti automatic...who knows.....trial and error....heh heh heh...and as always,there is always someone outhere who has more knowledge about this than i do, so i welcome any ideas that will help better my track time...
