My Manual Boost Controler: (PIC COMING SOON! Email me)

Theory Of Operation ("MBC for Dummy's" :) :

A Manual boost controler (MBC) has the purpose to adjust the boost pressure on all turbo cars equipped with a wastegate actuator.
The wastegate is a "door" found in the turbocharger. The wastegate actuator opens and closes the "door" (wastegate.) the wastegate lets exhaust gasses bypass the turbo so that it doesn't build anymore boost.
The Wastegate actuator, has a spring inside it, when the pressure from the turbo becomes high, it pushes the spring that connects to a rod that opens the door. Simple :).

The MBC is a very simple device. It's purpose is to limit (reduce) the amount of boost that gets to the wastegate actuator spring. IF less boost gets to the spring, the rod will not open the door ----> then it will take more boost from the turbo to push the spring open. i.e. the actuator will operate at a higher boost pressure.

For example:
The spring on the MR2T requires ~7 psi of boost to open. If you put a MBC between it that "restricts" the pressure that enters it, you'll need more pressure form the turbo to open the wastegate (door). So the turbo now operates at a higher boost pressure. (i hope this makes sense, it's hard to explain :)

How much power will it make?
This depends on a million things. You first need to have a boost gauge to see how much boost you are making stock. Some MR2's have boost set @ 8psi while others go up to 12psi(some 93's). you will need a FCD if you want to raise boost past 12psi on 91&92's...some 93's don't need a FCD until 16psi. I still havn't answered the question :)... if you raise the boost pressure by 3psi, you can expect a ~20HP gain, on a stock mr2, i would expect as much as 35HP-55HP if you crank it to 16psi. I have no test data and this might vary from car to car. You can gain more HP if you raise the boost more, but you need to upgrade the intercooler & turbo etc...if you plan on running 18+psi...The MBC is the best HP/$ modification.

Why am I selling it? Why should I buy it from you?
I'm selling it because it bothers me to see see people spend hundreds on crappy boost controlers. It doesn't make sense to me to buy a DSBC or an HK$ product. They all do the same thing but my MBC is simple, reliable and less expensive. Some other people make a similar setup but sell for 75$ plus shipping. Although I can easily sell mine for more, My goal is not to make money out of this (If you calculate the time i put into buying/making them, i'm losing). My Name is Rami Awad, I'm a Mechanical Engineering student (4th year). My hobbies inlclude turbocharging my NA MR2. My MBC SPECS:

My MBC has a brass housing, inside there is a spring and a ball, there is an ajustment with a lock screw to securely select the desired boost level. The brass housing is designed to hold the ball and spring securely. Both the ball and spring are made of stainless steel for long rust free life. It allows you to run a maximum of 20psi (the stock ct-26 runs out of efficiency after ~16psi) with no boost spike. To garantee elimination of boost spike a restrictor is placed inline before the valve. The MBC kit comes complete with all necessary high quality: high pressure hoses, tie wraps, fittings and other parts ready to install. A longer hose is available for 5$ more (6ft).
What you get is a great reliable piece of engineering.

How to install? Can I do it?

Yes you can :) , typed instructions will be provided with illustrations (digital camera). It's a bit tight on the mr2 turbo but you should be able to install it with the tips.
