Crane PS91 Coil:

This coil is really powerfull! Make sure the battery is unplugged whenever you play with wires! (i got the shock of my life with this coil, the engine was on and i checked the wire connection)

Do not use the stock wires with this coil!!! they will not last and will leave you stranded on the side of the road. I made my own wires with 7mm wire. Magnecore, jacobs will do even better (probably, and i hope)

The hard part of the installation is where to mount things... the first thing to do is locate the stock coil and ignitor (they are bolted together) to find them follow the center wire from the distributor cap, this will lead you to the coil. you may need to clear the way by removing the intake elbow. Now once you find the coil/ignitor, remove it :) and unplug the wires that go to it.

Once you take it out, you need to separate the coil from the ignitor (you don't need the stock shitty coil anymore, but you do need the ignitor :)

Then, you need to make all the wire connections, you might want to use some of the stock wires end connections etc...and when the time comes to put it in...you'll want to know where.

The ignitor has to be grounded really well (by bolting it to the trunk wall, like stock) i put the PS91 coil where the stock one was. (i may have drilled a hole trough the trunk wall.

CAUTION: make sure you open the trunk and pull the carpet out first before drilling. The ECU is there too and i wouldn't advise drilling though it.

I mounted the ignitor with one screw, 6" above the Crane coil. so far it seems solid. there was a hole there already...it is right next to the fuse box. I don't know what used to be there though :P since i removed a bunch of things...I attached a wire to the ignitor and grounded it elsewhere just in case.

I'm not sure if i drilled a hole for the coil of if i mounted 4 nuts on it. all i know is that it works fine and hasn't budged in a while.

Gains from this coil will be noticed on low end. top end gains will be seen on a dyno and are not noticeable on a stock mr2. I noticed (along with others) a huge increase in milleage every time i full it up! (even when i drive it really hard it still burns less gas). This coil makes the car far more efficient that before! I hope this helps, i would give more info but i don't rememeber exacly how i did it :(. I can still help with other questions other than mounting it.
