Miller Lite 400, 14 June 1998 Michigan Speedway
Well the weather was losy when we left home, we, meaning My Daughter Katie and I along with 70 others on the bus, it is raining and just looks bad, but they say Mich will be nice, ok? So thats the way it was, nice, Katie and I went shopping (by the way this is Katie's first NASCAR race, she is 10) and of course we just had to go to the Winston NO BULL tent, where we watched the film and checked out the simulator, I was not impressed but Katie had a ball, tried the Pit Stop Challenge just to have my Air Gun jam the first time 20.45 sec. the second time we did real good 15.02sec and the third time 13.59sec but the front tire changer Bob from Illinois did not get 2 lugs tight, so we lost, it was fun. Tried to find the reunion but was unable, seams no one in this group knew where it was going to be, oh well.
The race was great, my man JG checked out and was gone, no one was going to catch him this Sunday, new car and it was working great, till the mysterious piece of what ever it was found on the track, that gave the others the time they need to adjust their cars and that was the race for JG, MM did what he had to do along with DJ, give them credit where credit is due, Sandy was yelling and screaming from turn #1, I know I could hear her in turn #4 :-). Katie had a great time, made good time getting home by 10:30.
Now its Monday and I hear on the radio that there is going to be a big investigation by NASCAR, seams there was allot of shit being thrown on the track by other drivers wishing for a caution, if this is so, that is a piss poor way to try and win a race and if they find out who did it that should not only be fined but suspended for a couple of weeks.
