I dunno how it came out on tv, but I thought this was one hell of a race. Boy am I tired, though. Congrats to mayfield, he deserved the win. And he earned it.
Couple of thoughts:
I like this race track much better live than on tv.
We went to breakfast at some diner. and a bunch of Sabco guys came in. Asked if they wanted coffee, they said no. C'mon guys, maybe things wil work better if you are awake.
Was it that Rusty jumped the gun, or that Gordon deked him?
From what I saw, it was Earnhardt's fault with Schrader. I think he was pressing a bit. You have 500 miles, you don't have to go to the front from 11th in 10 laps. He's probably used to starting in the back...
Earnhardt, Waltrip and Elliott racing for position took me back; it's just too bad they weren't racing for a better position. The guy next to me was at his first race, and I told him mhe can tell his friends he once saw a race where Petty was followed by Earnhardt, Waltrip and Elliott.
Earnhardt and Spencer also put on a pretty good show for a while.
Are people pissed with Team Roush? When Benson couldn't get into the garage, no one would help out. I've seen other teams jump out and help on those things before. It was funny seeing all the Roush guys out there.
The pit-stop/speeding penalties to mayfield and Gordon were right in front of us. Gordon's boys did a great job.
Tough luck guys: Jeff Green, Elliott and Kyle Petty all deserved better.
Evernham is a little too honest sometimes: when asked about DW leading late, he basically said he doesn't have to worry about the #1.
Rain sucks, but it does seem to make people more racy and aggresive.
C-ya guys, I need some rest.
