Internet News

IE v4 released

After a long wait and several beta releases the final release version of Internet Explorer version 4 has been released. This version of the browser offers to change your desktop beyond recognition. Double clicks are replaced by WWW style single clicks, there are extra additions to the start menu and all windows (including the desktop and explorer) can have an HTML background allowing for hypertext shortcuts and animations on your windows desktop. It is a sneak preview of what Windows 98 will look like. You can download it fromhttp://www.microsoft.com/ie but be warned - it's a LARGE download. I would recommend waiting for a magazine to feature it or order the CD from Microsoft. The optional extras are good to with a new version of Comic Chat, now called Microsoft Chat, and a graphical HTML creator, called Frontpad, which is good but not as easy or enjoyable to use as Netscape Composer but I am using the version that came with preview release 2.

Future News
This is the start of a horoscope column written by Lance Grunge.

October is going to start off with a new moon- just like September did. However, this time, it is working in the sign of Libra and should be a great time for group projects and team efforts in all areas. Now, in a couple of days, the 3rd, to be more specific, all of this group stuff can easily intensify with the Moon running parallel to Pluto and squaring Uranus- please pay special heed to all your relationships.

Surprises can be in store for you on the 5th when Mars now sextiles Uranus. Many of these suprises will be more impulsive in nature than planned. Flow with the situations because on the 6th, the Moon sextiles Mercury giving all of us that perfect opportunity to express our deeper feelings- take the chance.

Excitement and adventure is the celestial setting for lovers, and would-be lovers too, as Venus visits Sagittarius on the 8th. Hold the glow and block any stress, worry and bothersome details on the 9th with the Moon now squaring Mercury and Saturn. Continue this resistance through the weekend of the 11th because others may try to force you into making commitments you're not quite ready to make. Brush them off with a "Venus/Pluto conjunction isn't going to overpower me- so there!" attitude. Time spent this weekend in some creative thinking will be valuable for the upcoming conjunction of the Sun and Mercury on Monday, the 13th.

Are you with me so far? Good! The next week will have some ups and downs. The Moon/Saturn conjunction on the 15th will help you take care of some promises and commitments you made- do them and get them behind you. Getting people's attention and holding their focus is going to be difficult the following day, the 16th, because of the Full Moon going into a scattered Aries. On the 17th, don't trust the rumors you pick up. Mercury squaring Neptune often means errors- so be aware of "good advice", it probably isn't that "good". Watch out for your charged emotional impulses on the 19th with the Moon in opposition to Mr. Mars.

Big sigh, now. Mars making a harmonious trine with Saturn on the 21st will give you the setting to get a lot of work accomplished. Yeah! Set the nagging "gotta do's" aside for the 22nd and focus on that "special person" with Venus in a happy trine with Saturn. Later, the Sun sextiling the Moon on the 25th can give you some positive, constructive results in any mixed gathering or meeting. It can be an obstacle convention at the very "squared" 27th. We have the Moon squaring Mercury and Venus, Mercury squaring Jupiter and the Sun squaring nervous Uranus.

The rest of the cosmic host are on the sidelines just watching. The month began with the "seeding" powers of a new moon and will end with more opportunities to "seed" your future with a New Moon entering Scorpio. This can be very powerful, so set your precious time aside for a loved one. This is also All Hallows Eve- when the veil between the worlds open. It is also the ending and beginning of the Celtic year. Furthermore, this month also celebrated Rosh Hashanah- the Jewish New Year. Got a clue? Put the past behind you and enter the new month like through a magnificent, celestial threshold.
