Happy Grandparents Day

My daughter, and parents have a very close relationship. They spend lots of time together. My parent's eyes just light up whenever they see her. They were there the day she was born, and they have seen her every month of her life. We did live away when she was born but moved back home when she was 10 months old. We now live only 5 min from my parents house, so they get to see her whenever they want. She usually spends the whole weekend with them. They absolutly spoil her rotten. This page is dedicated to all the grandparents out there. I will have a section of funny, and special moments that are shared between My daughter, and her grandparents. If you have a special, sweet, or funny moment between a grandparent, and grandchild, that you would like to share, then email it to me, and I will post it on the Special Moments page. There is also a Memory page, and a Dedication page, so if you have a special memory, or a dedication you would like to make them email it to me, and I will post it. Make sure to put in the email weather it is a SPECIAL MOMENT, MEMORY, or DEDICATION so that it will be posted on the right page. Thanks

Funny Moments between Belle, and Her Grandparents

Belle loves bananas, and my mother always makes sure she has bananas for her whenever she is down there. Whenever my dad goes to eat one of the bananas he will call Belle first, and "say Belle Papa's eating one of your bananas" and she gets so mad "those are my nanas" she'll say "your not pose to eat dem. I'll tell mama on you."

My mom took Belle shopping with her one day, and as they were driving down the road Belle says "Mama am I as pretty as you are?" Needless to say that made my Mom's day.

History Of Grandparent's Day

In 1970, Marian Mcquade, a house wife from West Virginia started the campaign to have a special day set aside just for Grandparents. It was first advocated for lonely elderly's in nursing homes, and shut-ins.The first Grandparents Day was proclaimed in 1973 in West Virginia by Governor Arch Moore. In 1978 President Jimmy Carter proclaimed Grandparent's Day A National Holiday. It is celebrated each year in September, on the Sunday after Labor Day. It is a day set aside for Grandchildren to honor their Grandparents, and the wisdom they hold, and for Grandparent's to spend time with their Grandchildren, and enjoy being Grandparents.
