I am not a mechanic so I just present my expiriences and I don't know for sure if the procedures I've used are the correct. So be careful!
I've always like the S10 since they came out (1982). Many years from now, my brother bought a 1982 S10 pickup(2.8 v6 with a carburator). I think it was a sport model, very nice truck, then he bought a 1988 S10 blazer also a sport model, (outside mounted spare tire, a tach, and very nice cloth seats) with a 2.8L TBI V6 . I drove this truck a few times, and I like it very much.. In 1996 I bought my first S10 blazer, it was a 4x4 Tahoe 2.8 TBI V6. Very nice for a 10 year old truck (1986 model).
I've done many things to this truck including:

The most advanced Evolution for the first generation of S trucks, appear in 1991 when GMC launched the Syclone to the public. This truck was a highly modified all wheel drive turbocharged Sonoma. Do you think that sounds interesting. Imagine 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds. and 350 lb ft. of torque. Want to know more about this incredible pickup truck , well click in the link below.
In 1992 the Syclone did not make it to the public but his younger sister, the Typhoon did. The Typhoon has the same drivetrain as the Syclone but in a 2 door Jimmy chassis / cab. The production of the Typhoon lasted until 1993.
In my personal opinion these trucks where ahead of its time, possibly the world was not ready for these kind of performance in these type of vehicles. The sales were not as high as GMC expected. The production only lasted 3 years and that was seven years since the last typhoon went out from Shreveport Lousina (Hometown of the Sy/Ty's).
Recently Ford release the New F150 Lighting almost 10 years after the presentation of the Syclone. The New Ford is capable of 0-60 mph in 5.6 with its supercharched, water to air intercooler V8. Looks like it is time for a New Generation of Performance trucks from General Motors.
