The high back seat featured
in the 1978 Corvette Pace Car was made standard equipment in 1979.
The 85MPH Speedometers associated with the 1980 Corvette were
installed on several late build Corvettes. Some '79 units where built with 3 rear floor compartments, while others had 2 with the battery door remaining the same and the other two compartments being made into one larger one. The entire unit of doors is interchangeable (for conversion purposes).
The L82 upgraded engine held several advantages over the standard L48. Among these is the fact that the L82 was a four bolt main block, while the L48 was a two bolt. L48 engines where also built using the upgraded GMC "K" series connecting rods, with a steel crank as opposed to the NF crank.
