Description : A high speed 2 mile (3.2km) fictitious oval circuit.
I have tried to put quite a deal of challenge into
this oval so you will find that you will have to lift
off around the corners even though they are slightly
banked. You will also find that tyre wear is an issue
and a word of warning - don't hit that outside wall!

* Installation *

First copy the JAM files (adverts1.jam, adverts2.jam, ff_fence.jam,
flyer22.jam, roadsgn2.jam) to a new subdirectory of your GAMEJAMS
directory called FFJAMS. (You will need to create this directory)

You cannot give the subdirectory a different name and you must copy the
JAM files into this subdirectory else the track will not function
properly.

Preferred Method
Get a copy of Trackman by Armin Krausse.
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Speedway/7479/

Alternative Method
Copy ff.dat into \gp2\circuits directory.
Rename to slot of your choice.

It is highly recommended that you use slot 2 for the Fleurieu Flyer as
this is the slot it was developed in and is the slot that was used as
a basis for the CC Car performance values used by FFPERF.EXE (More on
that below).

Both options require the NOCDROM patch which can be found at GP2.COM.
http://www.gp2.com

* Additional Info

Base : Wistow v4.1 which was based upon Estoril.
Usable Slots : Any of the 16 Slots can be used but any slot other
than 2 is not recommended for competition racing.
Preferred Slot : Slot 2
Track Length : 2 Miles (3.2 km)
Laps : 125 (400 km Race)
Tyre Consumption : 30726

"A" Compound Tyres have been used for this circuit as tyre wear is
extreme on this circuit. Preserve those tyres! For a full race a three
stop strategy is suggested but if you are very kind to your tyres you
may be able to use a two stop strategy. 10% of the CC Cars will be on
a one stop strategy, 60% of the CC Cars will be on a two stop strategy
and 30% of the CC Cars will be on a three stop strategy. The pit window
for the first stop of those on two or three stop strategies overlaps a
few laps.

Driving on Rookie is not recommended as the opposition is just way to
slow. If you are a Rookie driver try the step up to Amateur.

The included setup file (ff.csb) is a setup that is damn near the
fastest possible for racing at the Fleurieu Flyer. Also included is a
hotlap showing a qualifying lap using this setup.

Please note that there are limitations in GP2 as to the extent of the
banking command, particularly as it relates to the CC cars. CC cars and
all objects excluding the track are drawn in a horizontal plane.
Banking also enhances the grip of human controlled cars but not CC
cars. It is advised that F5 (Ideal Line) is turned off when using the
banked versions because it is also drawn in a horizontal plane resulting
in it not being drawn on the track itself on banked turns.

Note that Multiplayer Racing (other than two linked computers with one
player on each computer) is not recommended at the Fleurieu Flyer due to
the difference in aerodynamics when the car is under computer control and
an incorrect division of player turns.

Some of you may have noticed that the number of laps (125) appears to be
over the allowable limit for GP2. This is not the case as the allowable
limit is 126. (You can actually do 127 but the results are messed up)
GP2 Edit by Steve Young and TrackManager by Armin Krausse both
incorrectly have 124 laps as the maximum (both are highly recommended
utilities however). In order to get 125 laps you can either use one of
my other utilities called GP2 CC Car Pitstop Sanity v4.0 or use
Track Handler by Viktor Gars. Both these utilities correctly implement
the 126 lap maximum.

* FFPERF

This is a utility developed by myself based upon one of my earlier
utilities called PERFCHG. Basically it allows you to change the
competitiveness of the CC cars. I have worked out values that will
result in competitive racing (The default values for GP2 will be
quite uncompetitive) and assigned an index of 100 for both qualifying
and race settings. To use FFPERF just type FFPERF in your GP2 directory
and instructions will be given. There is a maximum index of 120 (Bloody
impossible to get near them!) and a minimum index of 80 (If you can't
beat them give up now!). I suggest you try the index of 100 to start
off with. For each change in the index of 1 point you will get a change
of approximately 0.06 of a second in qualifying and 0.07 of a second in
the race per lap. This utility will ensure that the best teams in the
carset you use remain the best teams racing at the Fleurieu Flyer by
employing a ranking system when setting the performance values. You can
also save your current settings for restoration once you have finished
driving at the Fleurieu Flyer and wish to go back to your normal
performance values for the CC cars.

I am looking at a second release of PERFCHG using a similar method for
changing competitiveness as is used in this utility. If anyone has any
thoughts or ideas please leave me an email.

* What's New

v 1.0 This is the initial release.

It used Wistow v4.1 as the base but is quite different from Wistow.
Noteable differences are listed below:

1. It is a 2 Mile circuit rather than a 2.5 Mile circuit.
2. There is only one version of the track rather than eight as was the
   case for Wistow v4.1.
3. There is more aerodynamic drag on the Fleurieu Flyer.
4. There is no grass at the Fleurieu Flyer.
5. There are different ads and a new set of starting lights.
6. There is a new util for changing the competitiveness of the CC Cars.
7. If you hit the wall at the Fleurieu Flyer you are far less likely to
   get away with it.
8. Race distance is increased from 80 laps to 125 laps.
