Press Release (30 september 1997):
The Fever Racing Organisation has some mixed feelings about the pre-season testing. On one side, the results of Jungle Fever
Racing were promising, especially Eric Cabrit's 4th place in Silverstone. On the other hand the season started disasterous for
Tropic Fever Racing. Only one car started at Estoril, but got disqualified due to an error in the TAG-Heuer timing sensors on
the car.
The team's co-owner Marcel Schot said in a short statement after the Silverstone session 'We're happy with the way the
Mitsubishi engine is handling. Eric showed the car has a lot of potential. Among the other drivers it was clearly visible that the
car has the speed needed, but that it's very early in the season. We hope things work out as well at Tropic Fever as it did with
Jungle Fever.'
Press Release (4 august 1997):
Tropic Fever Racing has signed another driver today: Garren Batten from Australia will join the team in Class D. The team
was pointed at Garren by an LFRS insider and closed the deal within 24 hours.
Press Release (3 august 1997):
Today Tropic Fever Racing signed their second Class E driver. American Jan Nottmeier will drive for the team next season.
Marcel Timmer will move to Tropic Fever Racing, being more confident in the Porsche engine.
