TOYOTA original
springs are replaced by the APEX progressive springs
(P/N 170-21102), 3,5 cm lower. Shocks are KYB "Gold" in
front and
"White"in rear. A "value for money" solution.
The combination
of all these gives an excellent
ride quality, good response to fast lane changes and braking.
Engine is now
tuned to give more power and last more years.
You can see the new pistons, the polished crankshaft, and the
work on the head and valves (ported and polished) for better
airflow.
The total lowering of the head is 0,6mm to increase compression.
The engine was
not "hi-rev" for 3000 Km to make sure that
all the parts will work smoothly and efficiently. Now after 10000
Km
the good work is secured and the engine sounds healthy and
powerfull.
I'm using a set
of Bridgestone gravel racing tires (185/65/14) for playing in the
gravel.
They are perfect for the bad roads in the Greek islands that I'm
going for vacations.
These tires have also very good grip in tarmac, but there is too
much noise...
I found a good
and rare in Greece set of 15x7 German wheels. Tires are
Dunlop SP9000 (195/50/15) and I'm excited. Perfect in track, need
nice warm-up
for street use. Now the car is stiffer but more precise when
drifting.
AE86's in Greece
had no rear seat belts, so my good friend John (http://www.ae86.co.uk)
has send me a pair from his spares. I need these to fasten the
kid's seat.
