This is the first book in the Shadowlady series.

This first chapter just introduces Aimi. She is a shy girl who lives by herself, but when night time comes, she becomes Shadowlady, thanks to her special makeup box. The chapter then introduces Shadowlady, who is a mischievous and powerful young girl.

Towards the end of the chapter, Shadowlady, on returning back
to Aimi, is attacked by a man she met earlier in the chapter.
It is here she meets Bright, who is a police officer determined
to capture Shadowlady.

This chapter begins with Shadowlady making the Gray City police
force look like a brunch of complete idiots. Bright also confronts
Shadowlady for the first time.

This chapter opens with Shadowlady laughing at Bright, who failed to make a good entrance, and ended up falling through the roof of the building Shadowlady were standing on.
Bright then is even more determined to capture Shadowlady, so
he chases her through the town, unaware that the Chief of the
Gray City police force have also got a plan to capture Shadowlady.

Chapter 4 opens with Bright confessing that he fancies Shadowlady.
The it goes on to tell of the next day, where Bright is out with
the police force, to capture a madman. Everything is going as
planned, until Bright uses his new invention, which back-fires
and allows the madman to escape.
Bright's chief is furious, and orders Bright to find the madman
again. Shadowlady upon hearing of Bright's quest, captures the
madman and delivers him to Bright. However Bright frees the man,
intending to give him a 10 second head start, before he captures
him again.

In this chapter, the Chief of the Gary City police
force again hatches another plan to capture Shadowlady. Shadowlady's
target this time is a church, and it is here where the Chief have
laid his trap.
File 6
In this chapter, Shadowlady visits a department store, unaware
that the Chief have set another trap for her there. On arrival,
Shadowlady notices that something is wrong, and therefore fouls
up the Chief's plan again. The Chief confronts Shadowlady, but
Shadowlady escapes by turning the Chief into 'Shadowlady' as well.
File 7
In this chapter, Aimi decides that she must tell Bright of her
real identity, but just as she were about to show Bright, she
is captured by a crook, who holds her as a hostage. Bright saves
her, and Aimi decides not to tell him of her secret.
File 8
This chapter begins with Bright showing Aimi two messages he has
discovered, the two messages put together says "Shadowlady
is…".
Shadowlady also comes across the final piece of the message, during one of her night raids. The completed message now says "Shadowlady is no. 2".
It is also in this chapter that Aimi meets Lime, who is a old friend of Bright.
