About _KeePeR_
Hi, I'm _KeePeR_ and this is my story. I started
out when I was 8 years old working on my dad's Commodore 64 just playing
games and stuff like that. Then I started editing files and changing things
just a little and I got so good that I could actually just make it so when
I started up a game it would just go straight to the ending and after that
I lost interest in games. So I moved on to other things. Like BBSes I had
my ol' trusty 300bps modem on my C64 and I thought it was the coolest thing
in the world. The First BBS I ever called was a C64 BBS called BBSaurs
it was a small board with hardly any files and just a main message base.
Then I found out that there were other people out there that did the same
things as me (editing files/coding) so i started chatting with them over
a period of 2 years. Then in 1989 I got my first IBM Compatible a super
fast 8 Mhz Turbo XT! =) and a 9600 BPS Modem
So I was working on the XT for a few years and when
and I lost interest... So I turned to Video Games (SNES / Genesis / Nintendo
/ Gameboy / Sega Master System / Turbo Grafix 16 / Game Gear /Arcade)
And I found out I was good. me and my friends held
tournaments with all the fighting games (MK/SF][ etc.) and I would win
everytime. So, I signed up for a tourney in Seattle ( i live in Everett)
and I got first place (1992) I just barley won so I sat around after the
tourney and I talked to the other players. and we sat around and traded
codes for our games. After that I thought, hey, there needs to be a single
database for Video game codes, so players could get all their info at one
time. So I started my first BBS on the Jet BBS Software at 2400 BPS (I
couldn't get my modem to switch down from 9600 for the 2400bps callers)
on my XT with 20 megs of HD space. I didn't have a job so I had to use
my voice line so I had to run the BBS from 9 PM - 6 AM The BBS Was called
"The Video Game BBS" it was an instant hit I had tons of users right off
the bat and it was hardly ever open cause people called one after the other.
I had my handle back then as "The Code Keeper" which fit the theme of the
BBS
After that I ran several BBSes with Several different
themes and different handles but in 1995 I found the Internet and IRC and
when I got on IRC I had a hard time thinking of a handle. I started using
TCK but that was lame and no one took notice of me. so I saw the people
who were doing the "elite" writing with the lowercase vowels and the upper
case consonants LiKe THiS so I did my name like that but the handle KeePeR
was taken so I used _KeePeR_ and ever since it has stuck. I got into warez
a long time ago cause I a poor man that lives in the ghetto with no job.
My Life Now.
Right now, all I do is hang out with my firends.
We all hang out all night and sometimes we go to Seattle just to hang out.
Then I come home about 10PM on Weeknights then I get on the internet and
hang out on the undernet and surf the web.
