AKIRA

Tetsuo one of the main characters is somewhat kidnapped by the Japanese government after his run-in with Takashi (Number 26). While they have control of him, they run tests and find out that he has an abnormal amount of brain activity somewhat similar to a mysterious person called AKIRA. When Tetsuo awakes, he finds that he has strange powers that he didn't have before. He escapes from the lab and meets up with his girlfriend. He gets ganged up on by a gang called the Clowns, but he is rescued by some of his friends. It becomes apparent that Tetsuo has changed when he relentlessly beats a member of the Clowns to a pulp. When an uncontrollable headache strikes Tetsuo, the government shows back up and takes him again. This time they give him some heavy narcotics to alleviate his pain. When Tetsuo awakes again, it seems that toys in the room are attacking him when it is, in fact, two of the older AKIRA test subjects.
