Political Attitudes
"Anger is a gift" -- Rage Against the Machine
We live in a society of political unrest.
Parties cannot agree within their ranks, the government and the
people cannot agree most of the time, and our president is
involved in a very controversial sex scandal. Why are these
things happening to us? It is due to our lack of unity that
America has regressed in the form of politics; in the 1940's the
United States was the most powerful nation in the world because
we were unified. Today, we are the most powerful nation because
we are the most technilogically advanced, unity has nothing to do
with it. Why is the media so set on detracting from the respect
for privacy of our president? In the days of FDR, no one
questioned his activities. Bill Clinton has rescued our country
from impending economic strife; he should be praised not
impeached. I am by no means supporting his actions because I am a staunch conservative; however, many of the people that are Clinton detractors need to take a step back and look at some of the skeletons in their closet. Our country does not need a legal controversy while the President is in the White House. This controversy is too distracting to him. Do you think he is as effective now as he was before the Lewinsky ordeal? There is no way he could be. Prosecute him after he is done with the presidency, not during.
Our century has seen some of the most legendary
political activists in all history. We have seen the likes of Che
Guevara, Emiliano Zapata, and Pancho Villa. We have seen
political martyrs like Leonard Peltier. I sympathize with these
people. I wish I could feel the persecution and also the love
that these men felt. Why can't America have people this
passionate about our values? We need to take a step back and look
at the freedoms that we posses. These aforementioned men have
died or have been put in jail fighting for their cause, and I
respect them for that. Fight for the rebirth of nationalism in
America!!!

"American Indians share a history rich in diversity,
integrity, culture and tradition. It is also rich in tragedy,
deceit and genocide. As the world learns of these atrocities and
cries out for justice for ALL people everywhere, no human being
should ever have to fear for his or her life because of their
political or religious beliefs. We are in this together, my
friends, the rich, the poor, the red, white, black, brown and
yellow. We share responsibility for Mother Earth and those who
live and breathe upon her. Never forget that."--Leonard
Peltier
