Stephen interview on DOTMUSIC

In preparation for his dotmusic web chat on Monday 25th December, Stephen did an interview with the website, using some of the questions already submitted by the fans for the webchat. He even answers my question!!!!!!! My question and his answer to my question are in red. . .

Interview Part One- watch part 1 here

In Part 1 of the video interview, Stephen discusses dance routines,

screaming fans, his plans to appear in a West End musical, what

he couldn't do without, his question for god, and find out what he

sings at the beginning of 'No Matter What'.

You're a good dancer but Boyzone seemed to give up after 'So

Good', now that you're on your own will you be doing any dance

routines?

"Whatever comes to my head during a song, whatever way I feel

like I should dance during the song, that's the way I do it. It's best

that way especially after 'So Good' ? which I hate ? I love dancing

anyway so I'll always dance during a song even if it's a ballad I'll do

some moves."

You must have been asked almost every question under the sun by

now?if you could choose a question to ask yourself, what would it

be? And what would your answer be?

Question: "How do you cope with it all?" Answer: "Ah very well, it's

grand."

Do you still like girls screaming at you even though they know that

your gay?

"Of course, it's great especially if you're on stage. It's always a

good feeling. I don't think it matters as they like me for who I am

and for my music which is the most important thing."

If you were given an opportunity to talk to god what would u ask

only one question?

"How's it going? How are you? How's the work?" He's probably got

the toughest job in the world, I don't what I'd ask him. "What's it

really like in heaven? Where do we go afterwards?"

It says on your website that you might be in the west end play,

Billie Liar. How true is that?

"It's very true. They're in talks at the moment. I'd love to do it but

it depends on time and what I'm doing and where it's going to be.

Apparently there doing it in the West End first and then bring it out

to Broadway which would be fantastic to do a musical on

Broadway. I've always wanted to do it. I love acting and singing so

the two combined is perfect. I had an offer from Andrew Lloyd

Webber but I was recording the album at the time."

Is there any meaning to the breathing part at the very beginning of

'No Matter What' and if so what are you saying actually?

"No it's an add-lib really with no meaning. The producer liked it but

there's no significant to it."

Interview Part Two- watch part 2 here

In Part 2 of our interview Stephen has to make tricky Big Brother-esque decisions and he reacts to Ronan's jibes. We also find out about Stephen the self-critic, his planned duet with Baby Spice, if there's any juicy gossip in Ronan's new book and his thoughts on a Harry Potter movie cameo.

You have a song on your album called 'Do Without Me'. What's the one thing you couldn't do without?

"Eloy, my dogs, my family and friends. I think everyone cannot do without their family and friends. It's important to have positive people around you negative people give you negative vibes."

If you were in a Big Brother-style house with Ronan, Mikey, Keith, Shane, Eloy, Baby Spice, Scary Spice, Eminem and Robbie Williams, who would you nominate out first and which two would you most like to be left with in the final week?

Nominated out first - "Eminem He'd probably wreck the house. He'd be too bold, too naughty."

Last week - "Who do you think? Eloy of course. And probably Keith he's got a great sense of humour, he's full of laughs and he's very caring. Who'd win? Hopefully me but probably Keith. We could set up a hotline. You decide?"

Are there any funny stories about you in Ronan's new book?

"I don't know I haven't read it. He's on TV in a few minutes so I'll switch on and have a look."

Ronan was asked in a recent interview "If Stephen was a city, which one would he be?" Ronan answered "Paris, because it's gay! (laughing), Stephen will appreciate that, honest! He won't mind!". Firstly do you mind? And what city do you think Ronan should be?

"I don't mind, that's just a laugh, that's just Ro. He'd probably be LA it's where all the celebrities go!"

Are you very critical of yourself and your own performances?

"Yeah. I'm my own worst critic. If I don't like something I'll say 'I'll have to do this better'. I don't like looking at pictures generally. It's important to listen to what you're doing and get people's opinions. I always hope for the best."

Last year you stated that you would be doing a duet with a female artist. Who was that with and when is the project due?

"Madonna, no I'm joking. I was trying to get something with Baby Spice. I wrote a song with a duet in mind - a lovely song - we'll have to wait and see. She got a copy just yesterday (Thurs Sept 14th) so I don't know if she's listened to it. She'll probably give me a call today. See what she thinks."

What did Ronan buy you for your birthday instead of the boat?

"He got me this ornament of a woman, she opens her belly and there's stars inside and a golden egg. I would have preferred a boat, Ro, maybe he still will?"

Is it true that you're going to be in a Harry Potter movie?

"Hopefully. I'd love to and the books are fantastic. Just to be in the Harry Potter movie would be fantastic - a cameo with a couple of lines."
