Meeting Stephen at his album signing

Thanks to EMMA for sharing this story!

I found out through some e-mail and the official Stephen Gately mailing list

that Stephen Gately would be signing copies of his new album "New Beginning"

at Virgin Megastores, Piccadilly Circus on Thursday 22nd June from

4.30pm till 7.00pm.

I had never met Steve before so this was like a dream come true! My Dad

agreed to take my there but because we couldn't go until he had

finished work we wouldn't be getting their till about 5.00pm. I was so worried

that I would be too late and not see him but as it turned out I needn't

have worried!

Three trains later we arrived at Piccadilly Circus and I joined the

queue outside Virgin Megastores, I was quite surprised at how short the

queue was considering I was half and hour late but I found out later

that most people had turned up really early and had already been in to

meet him. I got talking to a really nice lady who had three girls with

her so I was no longer on my own! After about half an hour we got let

inside the building and lead down some steps to a different part of the

store to join another queue which was much bigger then the first one!

It's wasn't until this point that I though I might actually have a

chance to fulfil one of my dreams and meet Stephen! Stephen's album

was playing over the speakers while we were queuing which made the wait

not seem so long!

After about 45 minutes me and the lady I met and her three girls were

lead up to the table that Stephen was sitting at! I couldn't believe

it, I was finally meeting Stephen Gately!

I told him my name and he signed my album cover for me and he also

signed a picture for my friend who wasn't able to come which. I thanked

him and then asked if I could have a photo taken with him. He was only

to happy to pose for a photo with me which was nice and the lady I meet

very kindly took it for me as well as some of me with him as he was

signing autographs for me.

After that we had to go and were led outside, it still hadn't sunk in

that I had actually been talking to Stephen Gately and I'd hugged him!

It was a dream come true!

I had a smile of my face all the way home and still have every time I

think about that day!
