All I know is that Stephen will be the lead role in a West End musical. At the moment exactly what musical is unclear. Once Stephen has finalised contracts and things, he is supposed to be releasing a statement to let us, the fans know of his plans for the future. He was offered the lead role in Billy Liar, but he turned that down and so it can't be that. Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber was also very keen for Stephen to appear in his musical The Beautiful Game, which centres around Ireland, so I think that one is a possibility. Or else it could be a new musical coming to the West End. There's a new musical called Godspell coming soon, which H from Steps is in, and so it could be that. At the moment no one really knows though until Stephen has finalised all his deals and contracts. We can only really speculate! Stephen has said that he really wants to be in Harry Potter 2 and is planning on auditioning for that, and so it's possible that this could be the film script he's looking at. Otherwise, he has also said he fancies a real hard-man Vinnie Jones type film role- somehow, I can't see Stephen as a villain! As for the TV show he is said to be presenting, all that has been said is that it is a prime-time TV show. This means that it'll either be a Saturday evening show or a weekday evening show. Or, you never know, it is rumoured that Ant and Dec are leaving CD:UK and so he could present that- he'd be great as a kiddies TV presenter! He already auditioned last year for Live and Kicking and T4 and the bosses at both shows were said to be very impressed indeed! Or, I reckon he and Eloy should take over from Richard and Judy and present This Morning! Wouldn't that be great? UPDATED INFO! See the news, dated 8/6/01 for some further info!

66.) Now that Stephen's future is unclear, and that he probably won't be around as much, what is gonna happen with this site? Will you carry on or close it down?

Oh no, of course this site will carry on! I still support Stephen 100% and my love and support for him will never fade. Sure, this site may now not be updated as often as it usually is, but it is certainly not closing down! I will still try and update it a lot. If there's no news on Stephen or anything, then I will still try and update it at least twice a week. If there's no news or interviews or anything, then I'll try and update it with games or something.

67.) Hiya Laura. Howya? I hope I dont cause you too much trouble by asking you this (and if you cant answer, it's fine with me). I was flipping through my copy of Diana-Her True Story by Andrew Morton last night. Coz I really like seeing pictures from the 70's and the 80's. I found this picture of Lady Di attending "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Wasn't Stephen involved in that? What year did Stephen get involved in it? Is the one Lady Di attended the same one Stephen was in (because if it was, it must've been in Ireland as Stephen claims he's never been overseas before he got in Boyzone when he was 17)? What is "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" exactly? Is it some sort of musical?

No, Stephen was never in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat :( Jospeh has been running in the West End for years, and the role has been played by people like singer Jason Donovan (who I once had a massive crush on), and TV presenter Phillip Schofield. I went to see the musical in 1991, when Jason was starring in it, and it was amazing!
Joseph is a biblical story and tells the tale of Jacob's son Joseph. Jacob loves Joesph more than any of his sons, and this makes his sons jealous. Joeseph gets an amazing technicolour dreamcoat for his birthday:

This make his brothers more jealous and so they strip him of his coat and sell him to a tribe in Egypt. They then dip his coat in goat's blood and make it look like Joseph has been killed. His father is heartbroken. The story then follows Joseph as he strives to get away from the tribe and back home to his beloved father.
Stephen was asked by Andrew Lloyd Webber to take over the lead in Joseph in 1997, but he couldn't do it due to commitments with Boyzone. A version of Joseph was recently made for video and Stephen was asked to play the role in Joseph for that. Again he couldn't do it due to his commitments with Boyzone. H from Steps was then asked to do it, before the role went to Donny Osmond.
Unforunaely, Stephen never met Princess Diana. He was supposed to sing Shooting Star for her at the Hercules film premiere, but her sad death meant that couldn't happen. Stephen still sang the song at the premiere, and dedicated it to her. As soon as Boyzone found out about Diana's death, they immediately arranged for some flowers from them to be laid at Buckingham Palace.
Anyway, Joseph is my fave ever musical and Stephen would be great in it, especially as he has to wear very little clothing:

Erm, well, it IS (unfortunately) a well-known fact that only one member of a boy band will be successful :( But, Mark Owen (from Take That) was dropped by his record company a couple of years ago and has just signed a new deal with Virgin Records! And, even though Gary Barlow was dropped, he now writes stuff for other artists, and is making a fortune! I have noticed a sort of pattern with former band members-turned solo stars- it seems to be that the ones less likely to be a success, are the ones who ARE more successful. Like, Gary Barlow was always said to be the one most likely to succeed, and it was Robbie instead. And it's the same with Geri Halliwell- people always said that Mel C would be the biggest solo Spice star. So you never know- there's time for Stephen yet! But, as Stephen's not looking for a new record deal at the moment, I guess we are just going to have to be patient until Stephen lets us know what the future has in store for him :)

70.) There were once rumours that Stephen was dating Melinda McKenna, the BZ choreographer. A few weeks ago someone told me that they really were an item and that Stephen went out with her because he couldn;t accept his sexuality. Is this true?

No, of course it's not true! Stephen and Melinda were very close, yes, but there was never anything going on. After Stephen came out, a few people said that he went out with her to try and be straight cos he didn't want to be gay, but that's a load of rubbish! To be honest, I don't believe that he has ever slept with a woman. In an interview in 1996, he was asked about girlfriends at school and he said that he dated a couple of people. The interviewer then asked whether they were sxual relationships and Stephen said that they weren't as they just kissed and cuddled and that it would be a long time before he actually slept with a girl!

71.) Hi Laura, I saw Stephen wearing his commitment ring on his right hand. Is Eloy also wearing it on his right hand? If they get married, do you think they will switch to left hand?

Well, it is entirely up to them whether they decide to switch hands if they get married. George Michael is rumoured to have married his boyfriend, and they have now been seen wearing their commitment rings on their left hand, as were Michael Barrymore and his ex-partner when they got married. One of my gay friends told me once that most gay men who are in relationships wear their commitment rings on the 3rd finger of the right hand, whilst single gay men wear rings on their little pinky finger on the right hand. But, it is entirely up to Stephen and Eloy whether they decide to swap hands. They could, like a few gay men, keep their commitment rings as engagement rings, and then buy proper gold wedding rings for their wedding finger. But, it's entirely up to them! Oh, and yes, Eloy does wear his ring on the same hand:

The stamp is indeed a real one. It is from a tiny country called Kyrgyzstan, where Boyzone are absolutely HUGE!! The fact that they were put on stamps shows that. This is another one of the stamps:

The stamp costs 20 Kyrgyzstan Som, which is about the same as a first class 27p stamp in the UK. The stamps are definitely collector's items and will be worth a lot in years to come! Fans of Ali G will know that his famous spoof interviewer comes from Kyrgyzstan. The country is often named The Lonely Planet because it is very small and little-known. Yeah, it does seem that Stephen is quite popular with the ladies lol! Yes, I do have the quotes from the celebrities mentioned. Some were mentioned in magazines, but others were mentioned on TV, and so I have them firmly pasted into my memory 9well, I'm not exactly gonna forget how many women fancy him am I?!?!?). Well, Madonna said in a radio interview that she thinks Stephen's really cute; Baby Spice admitted on Live and Kicking that she thought Stephen is "quite cute" and is definitely the best looking member of Boyzone- a few days later, the papers were full of stories of Emma and Stephen getting it together lol! Maxine and Leanne from Corrie, and Mandy from Emmerdale were all at a Boyzone gig in Manchester in 1998. This gig was being recorded as a live pay-per-view event and the girls were interviewed at this gig. When they were asked who their fave was, all 3 said STEPHEN, and then kept getting all excited when Stephen was dancing on stage, and when he was later seen in his fluffy white bath robe! Maxine later went around the backstage area of the venue screaming "Come out Stephen, you sex God!" and then Mandy had a row with Maxine, over who could seduce him first. Mandy said to Maxine, "I have to have him. He's gorgeous!" Destiny's Child have also said how they fancy Stephen. In one interview, they were asked what they would say to Boyzone if they met them. They said that they've already met them and that they'd tell Stephen that he had a lovely accent and is gorgeous! Former model Mandy Smith was once linked with Stephen and she said after he came out that, even though there was never anything between him, she did really fancy him and is sad that they can't get it together. And, Geri Halliwell (who, btw, had a huge thing for gay men), admitted on Jamie Theakston's radio show that Stephen broke her heart when he announced he was gay because she'd always fancied him! And Denise Van Outen mentioned on her old TV show once that it was Stephen's birthday that day. She then said "he's the cute, little one. I fancy him." Sadly what Louis said is true. Although it's not as bad as you may think. Louis told a newspaper that he wouldn't have let Stephen join Boyzone had he known about his sexuality from the start because it wasn't "trendy" back then. As far as I know, Stephen hasn't been asked yet about these comments of Louis', but I am sure he wouldn't mind Louis saying that. After all, attitudes towards homosexuality were still very negative when boyzone first started and so i think that stephen would be able to see it from Louis' point of view.

If I remember correctly, Stephen was born at around 4.45pm on March 17th 1976, so he was an afternoon baby. And in one interview I have, Stephen says that he weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces. So considering the average weight of a baby is 7 pounds 9 ounces, he was quite a small baby lol!

Yeah, course I can! Their first ever arena tour (spring 1996) was the first ever live concert video from Boyzone released and is called Live At Wembley. Although their Something Else summer 1997 tour wasn't released as a live concert video, clips from the tour are shown on the Something Else video. Their autumn 1998 tour was also released on a video called Boyzone Live: Where We Belong. Their massive stadium gig at the RDS in Dublin on May 31st 1999 was also released on a video called Boyzone Dublin: Live By Request. And, finally, their last tour, the Millennium tour (winter 1999/January 2000) was also released on video, but only the Irish tour, although there is no major differnce. It's on a video called Boyzone 2000: Live at the Point. Hope this helps.

78.) Hello. Recently I heard that Boyzone sang another song other than No Matter What for the Andrew Lloyd Webber 50th birthday celebration show. (I do know what song it is its completely slipped my mind). I unfortunately missed it when it was repeated on New years Eve ( its a long story)and need to know if they showed this performance on telly if so do you know how I can get hold of a copy.

Hi Jemma. Boyzone sang 3 songs in total during Andrew Lloyd Webber's Party and all 3 were shown on TV. They sang No Matter What (of course), then they came back on stage at the end for the finale, where they sang Love Changes Everything with Michael Ball, and then they sang Happy Birthday to Andrew. But they didn't do any songs as a group apart from No Matter What. The show was actually released on video, and it's well worth getting to see Stephen's smile throughout the whole of No Matter What, and Ronan strangely winking at Michael Ball during Love Changes Everything! If you want to get the video, most shops should still stock it. I would go into WHSmith's, Woolworths, HMV or Virgin and ask if they stock "Andrew Lloyd-Webber's 50th Birthday Party Celebrations". They are probably your best bets. Or, you can buy it online at my Boyzone UK Shop. Hope this helps.

Hi Yasmine! Yes, sorry about the sound quality on that videofile. It was my video; sorry about that! I do remember the question you are talking about though. It was the last question asked and Stephen looked a bit surprised when they said it was from "Ronan Keating". He was like, "is it really from him?!?!?" Anyway, it was quite a nasty question as "Ronan" asked, 'Do you think you will be as good as me one day?' Stephen answered with, 'We're both different people, and I don't think I'm better than him, or he's better than me.' But it wasn't actually THE Ronan Keating who asked the question! It was just someone's idea of a joke- probably a Ronan fan or something!

Hi, yep, you're right, I don't come from Europe. I can read Dutch and German and so that's how I was able to translate the articles. I know German better than Dutch though, and so I always have to have my Dutch dictionary handy when I'm translating the articles lol!

Well, realistically, I don't think it's going to happen. I would love for them to tour again, but such a lot has gone on that I don't think they will. I am still very confused though because one minute Ronan says he'd like to do something with BZ again, and then Shane says he'd never work with Ronan again etc. So I think we should kidnap the lads, lock them in a room together, and not let them out until they come to a decision!

1.) Stephen only wore those glasses (see the picture below) for fashion. They were very hi-tech ones and were made of titanium. They looked like ordinary glasses, but were made of special bendy metal!! Although it may look like they are 'proper' glasses, they only had plain glass in them. Stephen said that if his eyesight becomes poor, then he will have prescription lenses fitted! And so, seeing as he hasn't been seen wearing those glasses since 1998, his eyesight can't have become poor lol!

2.) I know that the only 4 members of Boyzone who are in constant contact with each other now are Mikey, Stephen, Shane and Keith. Shane and Stephen are still friends, of course, although they don't see each other as often as they used to, because Stephen lives in Holland now. Stephen had Shane round for dinner at his flat in London during the Stay promo, and he also spoke to him a couple of weeks ago. When Shane tours Amsterdam with Redhill, I am sure he will pop in to see Stephen!! So, don't worry, they are still good friends and Shane doesn't hate Stephen!
