Friday.
The bell finally rang and Mia went out of the class. She threw her books in the locker and slammed the locker door. Minutes later she could see her sister, Patricia walking heading her way with her friend Melanie. She opened the locker next to Mia's and put some stuff in.
School was nothing but boring to Mia and she wished she could just stay home and do the things she wanted. Surf on the net, work on her websites, or just talk to people at message boards and chatrooms.
"Mia, wanna go out and see a movie?" Melanie asked.
"I dunno. I'm tired. Maybe I'll just go home and get online, check me email or something." "You know, maybe you should take some therapies, that internet addiction of yours is getting worst..." Patricia suggested. She was getting a bit worried about Mia. "Or maybe try to find a boyfriend?" she teased. Mia just stuck her tongue out at her sister. "I'll try to look for the right guy for ya? What do ya say?"
"Not interested!" Mia said shortly.
"C'mon!" Melanie said. "We can help. What do you want an older guy or a younger guy? What height? Hair color? If you want some older guy, there are loads of older guys in our class you could choose from. Some of them are really old from flunking...." she laughed her arse off.
"As if!" was all Mia said in return.
"Me sister likes older guys, tall, and sexy..." Patricia teased.
"Oh shut up!" Mia was starting to get annoyed. Outside. "Are you sure you won't go to the piccies with us?" Patricia asked for the last time. Mia nodded. "Okay. Be careful then. Bye." Patricia and Melanie got into Patricia's red Honda Civic. Mia waved at them. 'Another bus ride home...' she thought bitterly. She wished she could drive. But she was just too much of an idiot to do that. She tried taking driving lessons but she was always too nervous and tense she always ended up failing. It was horrible.
The bus stop. And at the other side of the road, Mia's eyes caught something she's been really wanting: a BMW Z3 Roadster 2.0! Mia's jaws dropped down, there had always been a special place for Beemers in her ickle heart. "Oh me Gawd!" she whispered to herself. Her brother David owns a Beemer too, but it was just a BMW 328Ci. She loved it, sure, but this was what she really wanted. Her heart starting beating like hell. As if she just had to get her ass on the seat of the car. Just HAD to! The guy who was driving the car parked it in front of a CD shop. Mia's heart beat even faster. Now she could just stare at this car as long as she wanted--I mean as long as this guy parked the car.
She started noticing the guy who was driving the car. 'Wow! There's a bonus hunk in it too!' she thought cheekily. He was gorgeous. She had short hair with long bangs-which were dyed red. And he looked really cool too. Wearing baggy khaki trousers. With chains hanging around here and there. And he wore a parachute jacket which was probably 5 sizes bigger than his real size. Cool walk... But then her eyes focused on the car again. It was silver. Her second favorite color after baby blue.
The lad who just got out of the car looked Mia's way. He had the feeling he was being observed. He tried to make eye contact with the school-girl at the bus stop but he couldn't. She wasn't looking at him, she was looking at his car. And he could tell she liked his car.
A bus stopped in front of her. Shane thought the girl would get on the bus and leave as she was the only one at the bus stop, but she didn't. When the bus left she was still there, still sitting on the bench. Mia decided that she'd be home late. She just wanted to look at this car as long as she could. The guy walked in the shop hoping that when he came out she'd still be there. He grabbed some rap CDs and got them paid and went out. She was still there, still staring at his car. He got in and drove around to the other side of the road. Stopped in front of the bus stop and smiled at her. Mia was so tense.
"Hellow there! Would ya loike me ta droive ya?" he said with a friendly grin. Mia didn't know what to say or do. All she did was blush. If she just jumped in, she'd be a slut. But she really wanted to have a ride on the car. "Ay! Dun be shoy! It's okay, Oi won't do anyting to ya." she couldn't move, still. The lad smiled at her, she trusted that smile. She finally made a move and went in the car. She was still wearing her school uniform but she didn't care. Took her seat belts on. Mia and the lad didn't say a word for the first couple of seconds. "So what's yer name?"
"Mia." Mia said shortly. "erm... Mia de Fretes." she continued.
"Well Oi'm Shane." he smiled. Mia smiled back. "You loike cars?" he asked. Mia nodded. "Oi noticed you were staring at me car all the toime." She was so embarrassed at being caught staring at somebody's car so badly the person noticed. "Do generally loike cars or is it just me car?"
"I like cars. But I really like Beemers." she said. Shane smiled. Mia loved that smile.
"Would ya loike to try droiving this?" Shane offered. Mia shook her head. "Whoy not?" he asked.
"I can't drive yet." she said sadly. "But I can drive Gran Turismo on PlayStation!" she tried to cheer herself up. Shane smiled.
"Well how old are ya?" he asked, sort of hoping she'd be old enough for him to date.
"Just turned 17 on March 12th." she replied. She had to mention her birth date. She knew it was a bad habit. But she liked telling people she's a Pisces. It's stupid, but she's proud of being one.
"You're already allowed to droive.. Why don't ya get some droiving lessons?"
"I did. But I failed over and over..."
"How come?" "I dunno. They said I was being too tense."
"And that's what yer doing just now." Shane smiled. "Dun be too tense. Not loike Oi'd do anyting to ya." Mia just smiled back. "But you have been in a Beemer before, haven't you?"
"My brother's got a BMW 328Ci." Mia said. "Wow, what else do you have at home?" he looked interested.
"My sister has a Honda Ferio Civic VTEC. My papi has a Mercedes S-500. And mami drives a Peugeot 206. That's it. And I've got nothing." she said bitterly.
"Tha's rapid. You'll get someting when you're able ta droive." he exclaimed. "Seems loike yer family's really fond of European and Asian cars, yeah?"
"Yeah, we're not really into American cars..."
"You going stroight home?" he asked.
"Yeah."
"What do ya say we droive around first?" Mia bit her lower lip. She wanted to but she wasn't sure. "It's okay. Don't worry.." he assured her. Mia finally nodded.
They went around town and then started driving to the country where the road started to get clear. Shane drove faster. First they went 70kmph, then 90kmph, then they went as fast as 110kmph. Mia didn't complain a single bit. "You alroight Mia?" he asked amazed that she didn't do that typical 'slow-down-a-bit,-yer-scaring-me' thing most girls do when they're with him.
"Yeah." she smiled.
"Are you sure? Am Oi droiving to fast?" Shane asked again. Mia shook her head. "Are ya sure?"
"I like it, Shane." she said.
"Well what would you say if Oi decided to droive faster?" he teased.
"I'd say go for it, Shane..." she said slightly. And with that Shane pushed the car to 210 kmph.
"Is this what you want?" he said with a big grin. "You're cool!" she shouted in excitement. Mia was starting to get excited. Shane started to tell Mia about himself and vice-versa. Shane is a racer. Cool. Shane stopped at a beach. "Oi'm glad you enjoyed tha'. Most girls would be screaming their heads off trying to get me ta droive slower..." he said looking deep into Mia's dark blue eyes. Mia gently looked back at Shane. He had beautiful eyes. And great eye lashes. He had a cute plucked eyebrow and his bangs were hanging in front of his face making him look even sexier. Shane leaned closer to Mia and gave her a kiss. Mia was a bit surprised but she opened her mouth a bit, letting Shane explore her mouth. Shane wrapped his strong arms around her waist and she held his arms in her hand. They were really enjoying their time, until Mia pulled back.
"This isn't right. We've just met. We can't be doing this." she said. But deep inside she knew she liked it, and liked Shane as well. He was such a gentleman. Knowing how to treat girls and all.
"You're right." Shane whispered. "But Oi loike you."
"Me too..." she said reluctantly. 'How can I say I like this guy when I've only talked to him for the last 3 hours?' she thought to herself. Mia could feel something vibrating in the school bag that was next to her legs. Then she heard a small tone. She took her mobile. "Hello?" she paused.
"Mia! Where the heck are you? Mami just called me and she said you're not home yet! Now she's mad at me because she thought I was being irresponsible by leaving you! You'd better explain that you decided to go home alone when you get back!" Patricia sounded really annoyed. And before Mia could say anything Patricia continued: "Where are you?"
"I'm not sure. I'm at a beach."
"What?!" Patricia shouted at the phone.
"I-I decided to go with a friend." Mia stuttered. She really didn't want Patricia and her mami to know she'd been going out with a stranger.
"Who?" Patricia was starting to be nosey again.
"Erm, you know." she really had no words.
"Anyone I might now?" Patricia asked.
"Maybe." Mia said.
"A guy?" Patricia asked.
"Err, let's talk about that later..." Mia hung up.
"Shane, I'd better get home. My mami's getting worried." Mia said.
"Okay. Can Oi have yer number?" Shane asked.
"Sure." she said. And he handed her his mobile so she could enter her number in his phone book and she did the same. Shane drove Mia back home still talking about each other. When Shane stopped in front of Mia's house, she gave him a soft peck on the cheek and smiled. "Bye bye, Shanno." Then walked in the house. In the house.
"Mia where have you been?" Mia's mami said from the kitchen.
"I just went out with a friend." Mia replied as she ran up stairs. She went to her room and found Patricia and Melanie in her room.
"No, honestly, where were you Mia?" Melanie teased.
"I just got a bit lucky." she grinned. Their mouths dropped open.
