Meet And Greet Stephen Gately
Hi, I'm Stephen Gately. Welcome to Music 365, where you can log on and get tons of information. I've been answering lots of questions, so just click on any of the answers you want to hear from me and, erm, I hope to see you soon. Don't forget, my single's out on the 2nd October. Go and buy it! Bye!
If you could duet with anyone, what song would you choose and with who?
If I did duet with someone, erm, I don't know. It would probably be someone like Madonna or Britney or Whitney, or one of the Spice Girls or someone like that. Someone really. . . it would have to be a good pop song, uptempo pop song, not a slow ballad. . . or maybe a ballad. . .
What's the most embarrassing CD you own?
Erm, probably one of the most embarrassing CDs I own is Samantha Fox's album, which is quite embarrassing. I didn't buy it, but I do own it for some reason. I don't know how it got there but I didn't buy it. . . yeah, Touch Me is alright, you could listen to that a few times.
Who or what last broke your heart?
What last broke my heart? Erm, not broke my heart, but the last time I got tears or a lump in my throat, the last time I cried would be, funnily enough, at the movie Billy Elliot, which was the last movie I saw. I cried at that. It's very emotional.
Plastic surgery. Money no object- what would you have done?
I don't think I would have any done to be honest. I've seen so many documentaries on plastic surgery and this and that, but I think I'm going to wait twenty years because it will be so advanced by then that they'll just put you through a washing machine or something and you'll come out looking all fluffy and lovely. . . well, that's what I'm hoping to do (laughs). I'm waiting for that!
Which Spice Girl would you be and why?
Which Spice Girl? Erm, I'd probably be Victoria Beckham actually, because she's successful, she's very happy, she's got a lovely kid, got a nice husband and. . . she's got tons of money!
Who's your fantasy shag?
I am actually with my fantasy shag- that's true. Eloy would be. When I first seen him I was like "wow!", you know, that is somebody who I would actually like to spend my whole life with.
What's the biggest sacrifice you've had to make to get you here?
I think the biggest sacrifice. . . probably just leaving school, not finishing my exams would be the biggest sacrifice. Yeah, I left, I didn't finish my exams. I was 3 months into doing my final exams and I said goodbye, so my parents weren't too happy with me! The way I looked at it was that I could always go back and do them again if everything failed. . . just an excuse to get me out of school really!
Who would you be on Stars In Their Eyes?
Heather Small from M People. I can do quite a good impression of her (launches into a scarily good impression!). Yeah, so it would probably be her! (laughs)
Whose autograph would you ask for?
I don't know. Erm, anybody. The last person I asked for an autograph was Georgie best. I had a photograph of him with a bottle of champagne pouring it into a glass, which I thought was a great shot. So we were doing a TV show together and he was a lovely man. I was actually afraid to ask for an autograph but I did and he signed it for me and it was really sweet. So that was the last person I asked for an autograph.
Do you know how to turn a computer on? And recommend your favourite Internet bookmark.
Yeah!! (Do you have your favourite Internet sites?) Yeah!! First of all, I had to set up the computer at home for myself. So I had to rig the whole thing up, I had to programme it all in so that I can connect to the Internet. So I done all that. . . I'm quite good with technical things really, electricity- electrical things, should I say. Erm, my favourite website. . . I like anything. I like comedy sites, I like something with something funny on it. I like. . . what was I on recently? Oprah.com which is a nice site, just about books, and amazon.com- I buy DVDs, that latest DVDs that are out in the States.
Recommend your favourite book, movie and record.
I recommend, erm. . . the Harry Potter books to anybody out there. I'm only on the first one but I know the four of them are going to be great and the first one is just fantastic. Erm, movie. . . I recommend the Harry Potter movie. It's not out yet but. . . I'm only joking (laughs). Erm, Billy Elliot. I recommend Billy Elliot. It's a fantastic movie, just really really sad, happy. . . drama, it's got everything in it, it's very warm. Song. . . (Or a record, an album?) An album? Tracy Chapman's first album actually. It's really chilled out. I listen to all types of music, but anytime I just can't relax, I usually put on meditation music or Tracy Chapman.
Teach us something in a foreign language. . .
Ik houd van jou. It's 'I Love You' in Dutch.
Tell us a joke. . .
A bear walks into a bar and asks for a pint of Guinness. The barman says 'sure, but why the big paws'?
