GATELY: THE MOVIE

Lights! Camera! Action! Stephen stars in his own life story. All quiet on set. . .

A Smash Hits film

Starring STEPHEN GATELY Directed by HANNAH VERDIER

Cameraman SIMON SCARBORO

What would it be called?

Unexpected

Who would play you?

Brad Pitt or Scott Wolf. The little guy from The Sixth Sense (Haley Joel Osmond- Little Guy Ed) could play me as a little boy.

What's on the soundtrack?

It wouldn't be a musical, but it'd have a good soundtrack- I'll probably do it. I'd have Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Britney and 'N Sync doing songs on it too. And there'd be lots of '60s stuff on it to remind me of the music I listened to whilst I was growing up, especially that song (breaks into a gravelly growl) What A Wonderful World.

Would the rest of Boyzone be in it?

Probably, but I'd get actors to play them. They can choose who they want. I reckon Jack Nicholson would play Mikey.

Would you make a cameo appearance?

Yes, I think I'd be in it as Harry Potter (At what point in your life did you meet him, then?- Film Ed). I'd have loads of cameos from famous actors like Whoopi Goldberg and Lisa Kudrow. In fact, I'd have Ally McBeal and the Friends cast in it.

Would you be killed off?

(Shocked) No! I'm going to live! It'll be a happy ending.

If the baddies came to get you, how would you fight them?

(I think we're getting away from the 'life story' angle here. Unless. . .- Film Ed) I'd have magic powers like the X-Men. I'm really into them. I think I'd be like Cyclops!

Which Oscar would you win?

It'd have to be a big one, like best movie of the year. I think I'd do a speech which would go on for about a hour, so I could thank everybody on the planet! The audience would be pretty bored by the end of it.

Any special effects?

Loads! It would be a big-budget movie, so we'd have to hire loads of crowds for the Boyzone scenes. It'd be very expensive. There'll be snow in it too, 'cos I want it to be released around Christmas-time.

Would you lounge in your trailer and throw tantrums on set?

No! I'm not a tantrum person. I don't believe in it! I'd be pretty easy-going on set.

If you played a baddie, what would you be like?

I'd be a baddie with special powers, a bit like the guy who can control metal in X-Men. That's a good power to have.

What would it say on the advertising poster?

"You think Billy Elliot was the best movie in the world? Wait until you see this one!"

Would there be any extras when it's released on DVD?

Definitely! I'd be the DVD host and there would be an interactive Stephen game and 20 minutes of extra unseen footage. There'd be a Stephen Gately cartoon too, which I'd do the voiceover for! Actually, I'd love to do a voiceover for Disney- if they made a movie about leprechauns. I think I'd be great for it!
