Hear'say interview Stephen!

You will probably all have CD2 of Stay already, or will be getting it at some stage, but I thought I'd type out all the info of what Stephen and the Popstars say on this very funny CD Rom interview!

The interview starts off with a basic introduction of Stephen saying "hello, I'm Stephen Gately" and Hear'say saying "and we're Hear'say". Noel from Hear'say then explains how they have been invited to interview Stephen, but there wasn't enough room to answer all the questions which were submitted and so they were only able to ask 20. Stephen then explains how you can watch each question on the menu and then they all say goodbye!!

Question 1

The first question is asked by Suzanne and is from Phillippa in Somerset. She asks, "if you could make a band out of Disney characters, who would they be and what would the band be called?"

Stephen then answers by saying that he knows one if Disney's creators (cue lots of impressed looks by Hear'say!), who created all of the Hercules characters. For Stephen's birthday, this guy actually created a band of Disney characters, including Aladdin, Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast, with Stephen in the middle of the picture. But Stephen says that he doesn't know what the band was called.

Question 2

The second question is asked by Danny and has been submitted by Lewis from Nottingham. He asks, "If you could do a duet with somebody, who would it be with and why?"

Stephen answers by saying that the b-side to Stay was originally a duet for him and Emma Bunton (Danny: "oh cool"), but, laughing, Stephen says that she sent it back to him and so that didn't work out. He says that he'd love to duet with one of the Spice Girls, or else Hear'say (which is met by cheers from the group!).

Question 3

Suzanne asks the question "if you were given a time machine for the day, where and when are you going, and what will you do when you get there?" Which was sent in by a fan from Bedford.

Stephen says that he'd like to go in the future to see if he's a "bum on the streets" or still in the charts. And he said that he'd also like to go back to some old times too, probably the Elizibethan age just to see the dresses.

Question 4

Danny asks a question from Gillian in Glasgow, which is "love with no money, or loneliness with money?"

Stephen chooses love without money, because he thinks that love is a very important thing and is worth more than any money in the world. He says that it's very special and important and is what makes the world go round.

Question 5

Suzanne asks a question from Claire in St. Albans, which is "if you could have written and recorded any song from the last 100 years, what would it be and why?"

Stephen says that there's 2 he would have liked to have recorded- one for the money and one just because he likes it. He said he'd like to have done Bing Crosby's White Christmas, because it was one of the biggest selling singles ever, and Wonderful Life by Black cos it's a fantastic song.

Question 6

Danny asks the next question, which is from Joanna in Oldham (Stephen: "Oh Joanna? She's a lovely girl!"). It says, "If all the members of Boyzone were in the Big Brother house, who'd be most likely to do a Vanessa and who'd win?"

Stephen says that he'd definitely do a Vanessa because he liks drawing on tables and walls! And he said that Keith would win cos he's got experience of it already and would suss it all out. But Stephen says at the end that he'd definitely be Vanessa: "In fact, I AM Vanessa!" Cue much laughter from Hear'say.

Question 7

Suzanne asks a question from Gemma from Lancashire, wants to know "what is the one thing you would change in the world?"

Stephen says that he'd like to change all the hurt in the world and how people hurt others despite having families of their own and despite the fact that they are just as capable as being hurt too. Stephen also says that he'd like to change all the poverty in the world because he thinks it's terrible, especially when you see young kids out on the streets.

Question 8

Danny asks a question from Laura in Glasgow (cue Stephen's very dodgy Scottish accent!) Which is, "why did you want to become a popstar?"

Stephen says that he didn't want to be a popstar as he wanted to be an actor and had studied acting for 3 years. But he says that he definitely wanted to be in the entertainment business, whether it be singing, acting or dancing.

Question 9

Kym asks the question "what is the most stupid question you've been asked?", which has been submitted by Sophia in Cumbria.

Stephen says that the worst ones are 'what kind of biscuit would you be?' Stephen says that he always answers a jammy dodger. And he says that another bad question is what kind of chocolate would you be. He says he'd be a crunchie!!

Question 10

Noel asks a question from Naomi in Belfast, who wants to know "what's the worst habit you've picked up from being in Boyzone?"

Stephen says that he picks his nose quite a lot, but everybody does that. And then he says that he farts too, but everybody does that as well! And then he says that his worst habit is probably biting his fingernails. Showing Hear'say his fingers, he says that he bit the fingernails on one hand last night and now look at them!

Question 11

Victoria from Co Durham's question is asked by Myleene and she wants to know "you asked your fans what they'd like as your next single. Why is it so important for you to to stay interactive with your fans?"

Stephen says that the only reason he asked was so that the fans would go out and buy the record!! Hear'say kill themselves laughing, and then Stephen says that it's important for him to stay interactive with the fans and let them know what he's doing and what he's been up to. He says that he doesn't like giving so much away, but it is still important as it's part of his job, and Hear'say's job.

Question 12

A fan from London's question is asked by Kym. He wants to know "if you were stranded on a deserted island, what 3 things would you take with you and why?"

Stephen says that he'd take his house and all the contents in it as one thing, some mdeitation books cos he likes to meditate, and some CDs.

Question 13

Noel asks a question from Kirsty from Exeter, who wants to know "what is the strangest untrue rumour you've read about yourself in the newspapers?"

Stephen says "that I'm gay. So untrue!" He and Hear'say crack up laughing, before calming down. Stephen then says (seriously this time) that it would probably be reading that they were all millionaires after just one single.

Question 14

Myleene asks the question "what do you always take with you on tour?" Which is from a fan in London.

He says that he takes with him some books, a big wash bag and his La Prairie products which he can't live without. He also says that he takes lots of underwear (prompting Hear'say to add that he's a very clean boy!) And that he changes his underwear every day. He says that he always wears white because then you HAVE to change it every day!

Question 15

Kym asks a question from Andrew from Bambury, which is "do you intend to write a book concerning your own life experiences?"

Stephen says that he'd really like to, but not just about Boyzone stuff; he'd like to go way back as he thinks that there'll be a lot of things which will shock people. He says that he doesn't know when he'd get it done as writing books take a lot of time, and he'd prefer to write it himself rather than have a ghost writer. Stephen says that Ronan's written one and so why can't he? When Noel asks if he's read Ronan's book, Stephen shakes his head and says no.

Question 16

Noel asks a question which was submitted by hundreds of fans (most of us, I think!) Which is "are you planning to tour? If so, in which parts of the world and when?"

Stephen says he'd love to as he loves being on stage. He says that he will eventually, but he doesn't know when. He says that it'll be in the UK first and then into some European countries, where he's more well-known now in some countries than others. Noel then asks him if he will tour in Asia. Stephen says he'd like to, but it's just crazy out there. He says that if you want to go on stage, just forget it cos it's mad. (Noel: "Really?") Stephen then says that Hear'say will soon be finding that out for themselves!

Question 17

Kym asks a question from Rosie in Leeds, which is "have you got any advice for Hear'say on how to stay on top of the charts for the next 7 years?"

Stephen says that he'd just advise them to keep grounded and to go out and do their own shopping and wash the dishes and just stay on top of things and don't let it go to your head. Stephen says that he's seen fame go to the heads of so many other bands and it's really sad how quickly it can all get to you. He then said that you have to be nice to everyone on the way up cos you meet them on the way down.

Question 18

Suzanne asks a question from Kat in Rugby, who wants to know "if you could relive one event in your life, what would it be?"

Stephen says that he'd like to go back to the MTV Awards cos it was really cool winning the awards with Boyzone. He also said that he'd like to go back to the time when they went on Space Mountain 18 times (Hear'say: "oh wicked!"). He said they were filming for channel 4 or something and enjoyed te ride so much that they didn't want to come off. He says that they kept mucking lines up just so they could go on it again!

Question 19

Danny asks a question from a fan named Leanne, which is "you've mentioned that you'd like to get back into acting. Will we be seeing you in anything in the future?"

Stephen says that he really wanted a part in Harry Potter, but he didn't get it cos he wasn't short enough!! Hear'say and Stephen crack up laughing again.

Question 20

Myleene asks a question from Karen Moloney in Cork (way to go, Karen!) Which is "instead of answering a question, can you tell us your best joke?"

Stephen says that all the good jokes he knows are rude and so he'll have to think of a clean one. Stephen then proceeds to tell one of his most famous jokes that he always tells (no, it's not the COW joke, it's the NUN one!!). It goes something like this:

2 nuns are in a car, when suddenly some bats come along and start scratching at the window. So one nun says to the other * adopting his best nun voice* "show them your cross, show them your cross!" And then the other nun says "get off that f***in window!"

Cue much laughter from Hear'say!!

And, yes, Stephen really does swear. Except it's blanked out of course!
