TOON BARMY!

(c) Laura's Stephen Gately Site

Stephen Gately loves 'toons and got so excited when L & K sat him down to talk about them that we thought his eyes would pop out of their sockets and his heart would leap out of his chest! Yoinks!

Which cartoon would you most like to star in?

That's so hard to choose! I love the X-Men cartoons so it would've been great to have starred in that movie. But I'd also love to be in the new Spiderman movie- that would be a blast! (Starts singing) "Spiderman, Spiderman, does what ever a spider can...!"

Who's your fave cartoon villain and who would be best for playing them in real life?

The most wicked villain has got to be Cruella De Ville- she's brilliant! And Glenn Close was so good at playing her in the101 and 102 Dalmations movies that I don't think there's anyone else who could've done a better job of it.

Who is your fave cartoon hero?

Wolverine from the X-Men is my all-time fave cartoon hero. He rocks!

Who's the best cartoon couple?

Do you know Pepe Le Peu and Penelope? Pepe Le Peu is the stinky skunk who's always kissing and chasing his love Penelope but never quite getting it together. They're great.

What are the Boyzone lads' fave cartoon characters?

They like the Dumb & Dumber cartoon. That would probably be about it. Or South Park. But I could see Keith and Mikey being the Dumb & Dumber characters!

What do you wish you could do in real life that you could do in a cartoon?

Oh I'd like to be able to fly or walk through walls! I love all that super power stuff!

Which piece of cartoon history would you like to own?

I'd love to have an original drawing from Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. You can buy them but they're very expensive- they sell for about £20,000.

Would you like your life to be made into a cartoon?

Yeah! That would be mad! In cartoons you can go over the top and express yourself and just do crazy things. You can do anything in a cartoon and still survive!

Who'd win a fight between Aladdin and Pocahontas?

Oh I'd say Pocahontas! She's lived in a forest and knows her stuff! She's had a survival kit, so she's well up for smashing Aladdin!

Have you ever had a caricature drawing done of you?

Yes. And it was really good actually. It was given to me by a friend who's one of the head animators for Disney. He actually drew the Hercules movie character. And for my birthday he drew a picture of a CD and around it was me, Aladdin, Peter Pan, and a few other characters. It's brilliant and so special 'cause it was done by a top-notch Disney pro'!

Can you remember the first Disney film you ever saw?

Erm, no. I can't really remember the first film I ever saw, but the one that I've seen the most is probably Sleeping Beauty. I've got them all on video, but Sleeping Beauty is one of the best- it's a classic Disney film.

Which film would you put on to cheer you up?

I suppose if I was feeling a bit fed up and I wanted to watch a Disney movie, I'd put on Mary Poppins- I love that film. And I think it's got the best songs of all the Disney films.
