Woodworker's Rifle Rest. I designed this range rest after being dissatisfied with the prices and designs currently on the market. I've been an avid woodworker for most of my life. My family has a history of woodworking and fine furniture building and I'm no different. The Woodworker's Rifle Rest is an original Copyrighted linear axis design. It does not absorb recoil so is apt to last much longer than a commercial absorption rest. It can be made from a variety of wood or wood based materials making it lighter and more portable than a commercial rest as well as giving it a handsome rustic appearance. It can be painted or stained to suit the builder/shooter. When you're done at the range you can use the Rifle Rest as a workbench, or gravity vise for repair of any rifle or as a display stand to show off that special Big Bore or Plinker. The Rifle Rest uses a three point fully adjustable elongated triangular base making it extremely stable for long distance shooting, it's long padded saddles will hold your rifle firmly yet lightly, allowing the rifle to slide back under light or heavy recoil without scratching or scuffing the finish. The Woodworker's Rifle Rest fits all styles of Rifles. Single shot, Lever action, Bolt action, Pump action, Semi automatic, Muzzle loader, Side by side, Over under. The plans for the Woodworker's Rifle Rest are straight forward with instructions and materials list, easy to read and promptly assembled by even the most scantly skilled amatuer craftsman for less than 20 bucks. I've included a link here to an image from the actual plans. Be patient it takes a minute to load. The Plans cost $6.50 and can be downloaded on-line with a credit card and printed from any printer. I'm in the process of finishing up a design for my Portable Shooter's UniBench. I hope to have the plans available for download before Christmas this year. I foresee the bench plans will run $11.00 with a building cost of $20.00. |
