Here's me trying to get into a big publishing house!

Grace at the gates of the big publishers!

I began writing by the age of nine, creating poems (very bad), short stories (not so bad), and full length fiction (better!). However, it wasn't until I married a wonderful man that I had the support and encouragement to try to write for publication. Other than being my life-mate, he asserts he's my #1 fan, as well as first editor. I doubt I would have tried it without him!

Passionate about Irish heritage, my favorite historical figure (and heroine) is Ireland's Grania (Grace) O'Malley. One of the greatest sea captains of her time, Grania O'Malley fought the British during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. It was said of her that she was "for forty years the stay of all rebellion in the west". Called a pirate, 'Granuaile' managed to escape the gallows several times to live to a ripe old age. (Proof that life can be far more interesting than fiction!)

As to other pursuits, I'm a computer geek and instructor, love horseback riding, hiking, sci-fi and Shakespeare. To say I'm a voracious reader is an understatement. My favorite genres are sci-fi (not fantasy), light romance (not bodice-rippers), and political thrillers. With our 'watch cat' and two 'pound puppies', my family and I live at the foot of Colorado's majestic Front Range.
