USS OAKLAND CL/CLAA-95 and Antiaircraft Cruisers: Web Designer Paul D. Henriott has an extremely interesting story to tell. His past as a sailor in WWII and a soldier until his retirement is intriguing. Mr Henriott writes, "I started out with the USS OAKLAND website and kept running into information on the other AA Cruisers. I then started webpages on them which has turned into the All Antiaircraft Cruisers website." His site has a great deal of depth. The design is clean and smart... Worthy of the WWW Site Citation! Odie's Veterans Page: Here's a site that's focused on veteran's issues and MIAs. Explore the Viet Nam Conflict through the eyes of this distinguished veteran. He explains his work as, "A site you must visit to understand how this veteran left Vietnam in 1967 and finally 'came home' thirty years later. Site also contains a POW page for SSgt Deverton C. Cochrane and a links page for sites pertinent to veterans." The graphics and photos are stunning. Well worth a visit... Very impressive sir! (28 Jul 97)
Fiddlers' Green: HTML author, Army Sergeant First Class Frank Belonus (AKA Dark Patriot) has what he describes as "A web site for Cavalry troopers, but there is something here for everybody!" That's for sure. He's taken the point on developing a military web ring. He's also got an award program for outstanding sites. Look for interesting Java applets, great photos and great graphics. Our sister service celebrates it's Golden Anniversary this year and Ken has done a nice job of highlighting it! Bright, clean and consistent design make this site worth a bookmark. 70th Infantry Division: The Association's goal is to locate veterans of the 70th who are not members of the Association. They have a switchboard to locate long lost buddys. Learn about this unit's history during Operation Nordwind and the drive into Germany, from December 1944 - May 1945. The site uses frames, with a nice, clean design theme... Desert Storm: Here's a living memorial to the victorious men and women of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Obviously the author, Scott, has put a lot of time and effort in gathering and presenting this work. It's of interest to all because of the depth and scope of the content. Great work! (18 May 97)

You will find a definition list of common web terms and acronyms, interesting news and entertainment sites, a poll which users can interact with them as well as offering a tip of the day and short editorials pertaining to the web. Planet of the Apes: This hommage to those silly simians, endorsed by the FX Cable Network and reviewed by USA Today, offers more info on the Planet of the Apes series than you could possibly stomach, from pictures and sounds, to rarely seen Quicktime files.
