The Republic of Korea is a fantastic country with a rich history spanning five millennium... From it's stark mountain ranges on the East Sea to it's busy port city in Pusan, Korea is a nation of hard working, intelligent people. I arrived in Korea in November 1991.

AFKN provides entertainment, news and information via radio and television to 37,000 soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, family members and U.S. civilians serving in Korea. I was assigned as Assignments Editor in the News Department from 1991-92.

In 1992, I was appointed NCOIC, Special Projects. We made travel guides, music videos, briefing and presentation tapes and special spot productions.

Korea was probably one of my best assignments. I learned the most here and more importantly I had the chance to work with some great people... Help me out if you know their current whereabouts.

Finally... let's remember my former SCN Sergeant Major, Jimmy Jeffries... After retirement from the Army, he became the Chief Engineer for American Forces Korea Network in Seoul, Korea. Mr. Jeffries passed away last year.
