APRIL 12th, 1999

Episode 18 was ORIGINALLY titled, "For Better or Worse". Now, it is changed to the (in my opinion) boring title of "A Perfect Wedding". Oh well, I guess it gives a little ironic twist in the word of "perfect" and explains more about the episode.

FROM NEWSWEEK: What's Dawson's Squeak? In Wilmington, N.C., where the WB hit "Dawson's Creek" is filmed, it's the sound of teens encountering a spot frequented by Dawson and his friends. "It's all shrieking Omigods!" says Liz Edwards, owner of Screen Play Video, where the rakish Pacey works. Pilgrimages to Wilmington, which began last summer, include stops at The Icehouse, an on-screen hangout, and EUE Screen Gems studio, but the shrieks are welcome all over town. Says a local official: "It's definitely had a direct impact on retailers."

Just because Dawson's Creek is in the midst of a rerun marathon doesn't mean the cast or fans have forgotten about Jack McPhee's stunning revelation that he is gay. In fact, Creek creator Kevin Williamson says he'll go even further with all the Capeside characters next season. Mum's the word as to what exactly will happen-"Dawson's" cast members say even they don't even know what's in the works. In fact, they've been almost as surprised as fans at plot twists like Dawson's split from Joey and Pacey's pairing with Andie. Kerr Smith was told only that Jack's future looks bright. "Apparently there are some pretty good things planned for me next year," says the 27-year-old. Look for Jack to date- and to continue to struggle with his identity. FROM DCH

Get all the info from the “GO” premiere, from E! Online. From stars to review, features, factsheets, plus an exclusive interview with Scott Wolf. First weekend box office numbers put Never Been Kissed at $4.28 million for Friday and Go at $1.71. “GO” steps in at 4th.

Q: So, Katie Holmes, what will the nuns think of this movie?
A: Funny you should ask. Um...I think I'll probably be spending next Christmas somewhere else! And the one after that, and the one after that. I guess you can't do Mary Poppins all the time! I don't know. It probably won't be their favorite.
Q: And for you?
A: It was a blast!

The next episode for all us DC fans has once again but pushed back again. The new episode will air on April 28the, one week later in Canada. Aprils is full of surpises.

Finally, as you all know the summer season is approaching; and this makes me wonder about this page. I am extremely busy now as is - and I am not working full time yet. I am seriously considering closing the page, but as to when - only time will tell. I just figured that I would forewarn you in case one day you visit and there is nothing here. Daryl

FROM READERS DIGEST

Her Debut
Katie Holmes, a star of the WB Network's hit series "Dawson's Creek," is an oddity among the parade of lacquered young actresses on the circuit these days. The 20-year-old from Toledo, Ohio, has the kind of qualities that seem old-fashioned: modestry, empathy and honesty. her most-used expression is "I'm such a nerd".

She auditioned for her role as Joey Potter on "Dawson's Creek" via a home video filmed in her mom's sewing room. Then she was asked to fly to Hollywood for a test. "I told them I couldn't. It was opening night of my high school play. I refused to let my friends down." Studio executives, shocked at first, eventually rescheduled the audition. Holmes recalls her father's advice: "He told me, 'These are your friends. No matter what happens, you grew up here. Your name means a lot here.'"
- Jancee Dunn in Rolling Stone "I'm just learning myself what the real world is like." - Katie Holmes. What with all the good and decent teen films on the market now (Cruel Intentions being the one exception), we're really looking forward to Go. Directed by Doug Liman (Swingers) and starring Dawson's Creek's Katie Holmes, Go explores the seedier side of youth, running the gamut from drugs to grand theft auto. Can't wait. Employing a similar elliptical narrative device as that used in Pulp Fiction, Go interweaves three separate — yet inexplicably linked — stories. Claire (Katie Holmes) goes along for the ride when her co-worker Ronna (Sarah Poley) sets out to sell drugs. A group of friends, lead by the British Simon (Desmond Askew), steals a car in Las Vegas and gets into all sorts of trouble. Finally, gay soap stars Adam (Scott Wolf) and Zack (Jay Mohr) get caught up in a drug bust.

Katie to appear on Rosie April 14the. Monica Keena (Abby) to appear on Leno tonight.

The official Tonight Show site (www.nbc.com/leno) says Monica Keena will be one of the guests next Monday (April 5).

Britney Spears was quoted as saying in a TV Guide Online that she would be playing herself in an upcoming Dawsons Creek Episode. But when she was on MTV - she said she would be playing someone else, hmmmm???

SCENES FROM THE SEASON FINALE!!!! (SPOILERS)

~The Icehouse Burns down but none of the main cast members are killed in the explosion. One of Mr. Potter's business partners throws a pipe bomb into the restaurant. Jack helps Jen out, Pacey helps Joey and Dawson and Mr. Witter help Mr. Potter out of the Icehouse.
~Mitch and Gale talk about Gale's new opportunity in Philadelphia and Mitch even gets on bended knee to beg that she stay in Capeside with him and Dawson. Gale says that she's been waiting forever for Mitch to come back to her and complete their family but that he's too late and that if they ever want to get their relationship back, she needs to leave for awhile and figure things out.
~Dawson confronts his parents and tries to make them understand that he wants his family back.
~Dawson sees Potter with drugs (cocaine) and confronts Mr. Potter and later tells Joey who has a few choice words for her boyfriend.
~Jen and Jack are living at the McPhee residence by themselves for a little while and Grams is trying to convince her to come live with her again.
~Jen eventually makes peace with Grams but has three conditions before she will come back. One of which is having Jack move in with them and Grams agrees to let him have Gramp's old bedroom.
~Gale accepts a job in Philadelphia and tells Dawson who's not too happy with his mom leaving.
~Pacey and his father have a few emotional scenes together over Andie and what she's done for Pacey. His father basically tells him he better pass his final exams else, Witter will let him have it and that Pacey needs to get over Andie.
~Dawson tells Pacey that Andie would have wanted him to pass his finals and to do it for her when Pacey talks about not wanting to take them.
~Pacey refuses to take his finals and walks out of the classroom, thus becoming a slacker once again with the possiblity of repeating his sophomore year again.
~Jen drops out of school after she is sexually harassed by a teacher and confides in Dawson.

Universal Pictures has officially announced their acquisition of domestic distribution rights of The Skulls, a suspense thriller to be produced by Neal Moritz (Cruel Intentions) and directed by Rob Cohen (HBO's The Rat Pack) from a screenplay by John Pogue. Joshua Jackson (Cruel Intentions, TV's Dawson's Creek) will star in the film, which is scheduled to go into production in May.

MARCH 25th, 1999

"Dawson's Creek" star James Van Der Beek and Dylan McDermott of "ThePractice"are getting together to star in "Texas Rangers," a feature film abouthow aragtag gang of youngsters banded together after the Civil War to formtheTexas Rangers, a group charged with the dangerous and ruthless duty ofcleaning up the West. Variety reports that the project has a longhistory butwas shelved in 1984 when its director, Sam Peckinpah ("The WildBunch"), died. The film's resurrection reportedly has a lot to do with Van Der Beek, who madehis feature-starring debut earlier this year in "Varsity Blues," forwhich hewas paid a paltry $200,000. The low-budget teen drama has earned aremarkable$52 million domestically. In recognition of that bankability, the22-year-oldactor will be paid a low seven-figure salary for "Texas Rangers," aproject hechose after turning down numerous teen-themed dramas and comedies forhishiatus slot.

James Van Der Beek will be in Europe, traveling to England, France, and Germany starting March 26th and running a few days into April. Why I am not sure, but www.dawsonscreek.com is supposed to have all the details as they become available.

The official release date for the Dawsons Creek Soundtrack is set for April 20the, 1999. Dates may vary in some areas.

MARCH 22nd, 1999

From the April issue of "Seventeen", page 108
'In their effor to drill safe sex practices into the minds of youngsters, health experts are now turning to the people who most influence teens: television writers. The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is collaborating with writers from shows like "Dawson's Creek" to include story lines that promote pregnancy prevention. The campaign folks say that if TG shows can teach teens what the zip code is in Beverly Hills, they can teach them about safe sex. -D.S.'

Just as Jack (played by Kerr Smith) came out of the proverbial closet on "Dawson's Creek" and announced he was gay, so too did the show's creator. KEVIN WILLIAMSON, who is also the mastermind behind the "Scream" movies, recently told both the New York Daily News and the Advocate magazine that he hadn't discussed being gay before because "it wasn't asked." But because he has always said "Dawson's Creek" is partly autobiographical (down to the name of the town, and the character of Joey), this kind of makes sense. And I say, good for him! Seeing people you admire have the courage to announce their sexuality is helpful to the tons of teens who are grappling with that subject right now. You can look for future episodes of "Dawson's Creek" to include the usual ups and downs that accompany a situation like this. Though his friends, of course, support him, Jack will not have the best relationship with Ty, a fundamentalist Christian.

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- As the weather warms, the Wilmington film industry heats up. Spring and summer promise to be an active time for filming. Mary Jane's Last Dance, an MGM picture, has opened pre-production offices at EUE Screen Gems Studios. The film will be directed by Zoe Clarke-Williams, whose credits include When Autumn Leaves and Men.

The film stars Dominique Swain and Meredith Monroe. Locals may recognize Dominique, who starred in Lolita, and Ms. Monroe, who plays Andie McPhee on Dawson's Creek. The film, according to sources, is aimed at the I Know What You Did Last Summer crowd. It concerns four rich college girls involved in a murder mystery.

From the desk of Wanda at E! Online

What's up next for Dawson's Creek, especially Dawson and Joey?
I never expected this question. Just kidding. They will, indeed, get back together, and we get to see some lovey-dovey stuff--but it's short-lived, because Dawson sees Joey's dad dealing drugs and what follows is all bad.

From style511: I read on a Website that Andie and Pacey break up. Please tell me this isn't true!!
Well, sort of. After Andie freaks out, Jack and Pacey call her dad, who decides it's time to move his kids back to Providence. After much ado about everything, Andie decides she needs to get help, so she physically leaves but is very much a part of Pacey's life. Jack, however, stays in town and gets an unexpected roommate.

From pickle3: Anything else on the Creek?
But, of course. Mitch starts to date Dawson's new film teacher, which really hurts Gail. Convinced she's lost Mitch for good, she decides to take a job offer in Philly. He eventually comes around, but it's too late. Gail leaves as Mitch gets ready to move back into the house.

From carmillia: I hear the Icehouse will be burnt down. Is that true? If so, how?
You hear right. One of the thugs, also known as Joey's dad's business acquaintance, throws a pipe bomb at the Icehouse while Joey and Dawson are inside. I'll save ya the suspense and tell you they survive, but it does more than just damage the Icehouse. It damages lots of relationships.

From dawsonjoeylover1: Is there any word if Dawson and Joey do lose their Virginity to each other during May sweeps?
The word is NO.

From bowesam: I'd like to know, when is Britney Spears going to be on Dawson's Creek?
Don't know, but the announcement was made today that she will be on the show. I'm thinking next season, though, because they've already wrapped. So unless there's something I don't know...

From rain_mann09: Any news on casting for Kevin Willamson's show Wasteland?
Didn't I already tell you? Maybe not. Rebecca Gayheart has been cast as one of the leads.

After Abby dies in the Creek, Two characters start questioning there reasons for being. First its Andie who starts telling herself that SHE is responsible. She is asked to speak at Abby's funeral. This then causes her to start seeing Tim (her dead brother).
Then Jen is also asked to speak at Abby's funeral. She starts ridiculing God, and saying it is his fault that Abby is no longer with them. This obviously upsets Grams and she throws Jen out of the house in utter disgust.

Andie leaves the show in a scene duplicating "THE DANCE" from earlier this season. She has checked herself into an institution for rehab, no word if she will be coming back next season. That is how the two break up.

some scenes are going to take place in the Dawson's Creek Season Finale.

-Kitchen, Dawson's House
-Family Room in Dawson's House.
-Dawson's Room [Joey and Dawson are there...Umm?]

The official GO! website opened yesterday! It stars Katie Holmes if you have not heard...

From TV GUIDE: JEERS to a gross plot device trotted out ad nauseam. Recently we've seen (or in some cases heard) a raft of characters vomiting during episodes, including Donna (Laura Prepon) on That '70s Show, Jimmy (Michael Badalucco) on The Practice and Georgie (Frank Santorelli) on The Sopranos. On Dawson's Creek, Dawson (James Van Der Beek) and Andie (Meredith Monroe) get sick simultaneously. From where we sit, throwing up is akin to Alex Trebek doing the funky chicken. We know it happens—we just don't want to see it on TV.

March 19th, 1999

Joshua Jackson has nabbed the top role in ''Skulls,'' which Variety describes as ''The Firm'' set in college.

You can download the "GO" trailer at Sony.com!

Pacey is involved in the fire, he actually carries someone out of it... The burning Icehouse. Don't fret, no one dies (to my knowledge) in the fire so I wouldn't worry to much. However, earlier in the episode our good student Pacey...can basically drop the student from his name. Final exams are coming up and things don't look good for Mr. Witter. Once Andie leaves, so does Pacey's desire to continue his education.

How Sex Talk Brought Dawson's Creek Star Closer to Her Mom
Thursday, March 11, 1999

Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes says she bonded with her mom while videotaping a potentially embarrassing audition scene for the popular WB teen drama.
"When my mom and I taped auditions, we'd go down to the basement," Holmes recalls in April's Mademoiselle. "For Dawson's, I did two scenes from the pilot. In the second, I had to ask [Dawson]: 'When do you masturbate?' I said that to my mother! I think we bonded over that."
The 20-year-old actress says she and her mom are both "reserved" when it comes to discussing personal matters. But Holmes does tell the magazine a little about her failed off-screen romance with Dawson's costar Joshua Jackson. According to Holmes, the breakup hasn't affected their ability to work together on the set.
"We're great friends," says Holmes. "We did date. We fell in love. And I love him and now we have a friendship, which is nice." — Rich Brown

Just heard that Katie Holmes will be on MTV's Total Request Live on March 23 to premote her new movie GO! which comes out April 9th.

Michelle Williams is set to be in "But Im A Cheerleader" which is supposed to come out sometime this year. Her character's name is going to be Kimberly.

Britney Spears signs a TV development deal with "Dawson's Creek" 's studio. The teen pop star hopes to have her own dramatic series next year.

March 15th, 1999

Many have asked about Dawson's necklace and the importance of it. Aaron from DCH has the story.
If you're an avid DC fan, you know James Van Der Beek always sports the same silvery necklace. In fact, the necklace was made by his mom, and because he wears it in practically every scene, the show's wardrobe department actually plans Dawson's clothes around it. To get your own replica of this cool jewel, send two proofs of purchase from any Dep styling product, plus $3.99 for shipping and handling to :

Do you want to win a trip for two to the Dawson's Creek set in Wilmington, N.C. All you have to do is just log on to the Web site http://www.dawsonscreek.com.

The hit tv show Dawsons Creek, filmed on location in Wilmington, is shooting it's final scenes for the season. The season finale has this: footage of the Icehouse in ruins.

New article on Katie in the latest issue of Mademoiselle Magazine!

Things you should know... Dawson's Creek Soundtrack coming out. Katie Holmes will be on David Letterman (March 23rd, I believe). Katies new movie "GO!" is coming out sometime in April.

Here is some SCREAM 3 information for you: Neve Campbell will be in the final installment. Rumors that Creek Characters such as Katie Holmes and James Van Der Beek may be included, not confirmed as of yet. There was also talk that wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin would have a part, but WWF.COM has not mentioned anything about it yet. If James and Katie are in the film; they would play a couple, basically making a parody of there relationship on Dawson's Creek. Don't hold your breathe, those are just rumors.

Season Finale Spoilers - Andie is not in the last episode at all. Gale (Dawson's Mom) has something very important to tell Dawson. This has something to do with her and Mitch's relationship (not good). Dawson wants to believe that his family is as one, but to no avail.

March 9th, 1999

It appears (this is NOT CONFIRMED) that the actual owner of "The Icehouse" is not very thrilled with Dawson's Creek being filmed there anymore. Plans are as of now to involve the Icehouse in an upcoming storyline where it is to be burned down (by accident or on purpose?).

After Abby's dies, Andie takes responsability (Why?). She blames herself, and then goes into utter seculusion. She begins to see her brother again (Tim), and changes her hair (color, new haircut). Its going to be a rough time for her and we won't see very much of Andie in the Season Finale. (Actually, I've heard we won't see ANY OF HER).

Yesterday was James's 22nd birthday, Man - he had two birthdays in one week. Now today is also a special day for another one of the cast members - Kerr Smith is also celebrating.

After tomorrow's New Episode in which some "weird" things are going to be revealed ala the Fortune Teller we have A BUNCH of Creek Repeats in store.

Here is how its broken down:

March 10th (Tomorrow) = New Episode
March 17th = Repeat
March 24th = Repeat
March 31st = Repeat
April 7th = Repeat
April 14th or April 21st should be when the New Episode once again air.

Tomorrow is Episode Number 17, and we have 5 New Episodes after that one.

Colin arrives in Capeside tomorrow. He will kindly tell Joey that he is gay and gives her a friendly kiss on the cheek. Joey wants to set Jack up with him. Jack basically gets pissed and yells at Joey.

Dawson's Creek wraps up filming tomorrow...The Cast and Crew are celebrating in a Bowling Alley?

March 5th, 1999

Information is thin right now, but Meredith Monroe has landed the starring role in the new MGM feature "Depraved Indifference." Meredith will portray Hadley in the lead role. Filming is scheduled to begin in late March and wrap sometime in late Spring.

Katie Holmes has been scheduled on the Rosie O'Donnell Show for April 14.

Next Weeks Episode: From what I have heard through the grapevine of sources- the scene where Joey is crying has to do with movie night and not about Dawson telling her off or her getting upset about Colin.
Also, Dawson destroys and throws things in his room because of his new film teacher. She is a movie executive on leave from Hollywood and is his new film teacher and she basically tells him that his film is fluff ruining his self-confidence and shatters his dreams. He's also very upset because his own father *is* with her. And when I say his father is with her, I mean in the literal sense if you catch my drift.

In an upcoming episode, actually more detailed..March 10th at 8pm. Titled, "Psychic Friends". Joey will SUPPOSEDLY "bare all" for Colin.

Dawson's Creek star Kerr Smith says he relied on a little help from his friends to prepare for his role as a gay teenager on the show. "Friends of mine who are gay told me what it was like for them," says Smith in the gay lifestyle magazine "The Advocate." A couple of their parents weren't very accepting, and they were disowned. That's the kind of stuff Jack's going to be dealing with.

Next weeks trailer (3.8mb)!!! Download it here!

"SNOW will be arriving in Capeside, very soon". Did anyone believe me? People were saying "not gonna happen", and then some extras on the show said "I was there, there wasn't any snow". We were promised that there would be a snow scene last summer. Last night it finally happened. In a more romantic way, than possible. Dawson, Joey, after they pour there hearts out...

Good news is after next week's episode a important person reenters Joey's life and that person is her father and she can't deal with him and she goes to Dawson for comfort and something happens between them that ultimately leads them to a lot of "kissing and making up"

Bad news is after next week's episode, we have a few weeks of reruns. There's only like 5 more episodes left to air after next week and the majority of them will be shown during May sweeps and new episodes will probably start to air in mid April.

  HER DEBUT (from Readers Digest)

Katie Holmes, a star of the WB Network's hit series, "Dawson's Creek" is an oddity among the parade of lacquered young actresses on the circuit these days. The 20-year-old from Toledo, OH, has the kind of qualities that seem old-fashioned: modesty, empathy, and honesty. her most used expression is "I'm such a nerd."

She auditioned for her role as Joey Potter on "Dawson's Creek" via a home video filmed in her mom's sewing room. Then she was asked to fly to Hollywood for a test. "I told them I couldn't. It was opening night of my high school play. I refused to let my friends down."

Studio executives, shocked at first, eventually rescheduled the audition. Holmes recalls her father's advice: "He told me, 'These are your friends. No matter what happens, you grew up here. Your name means a lot here.'"

(quote)-> "I'm just learning myself what the real world is like."

A New Character, Colin will be showing up in Capeside, very very soon. He will be into Arts/Crafts, and an attraction will grow between him and Joey. Although, I think Joey is the one attracted and Colin just may be attracted to someone else (aka Jack).

I've heard through a credible source that Jen and Ty's relationship isn't going to last very long. I heard by season's end that the two will have nothing to do with each other.

FROM THE DESK OF WANDA AT E! ONLINE.

-What happens on tomorrow's episode of Dawson's Creek?
Wanda replies: Joey throws a surprise party for Dawson's birthday but he's off getting wasted with Andie at the suggestion of her doctors who actually just tell her to go have some fun. Anyway, Dawson's a big mess and when he finally shows up, he starts going off oneveryone but Pacey comes to rescue, meanwhile, Abby finds Jack waiting around in Dawson's room and starts hitting on him with the "you've never had a real woman" speech that those kind of girls love to give. She gets on him just as Joey enters, gets the wrong idea and vanishes devastated.

-gearheart asks: Does Dawson get arrested ?
Wanda replies: Nope. No one does.

-keithliny asks: Wanda, will any of the WB shows have summer ep's? Just wondering???
Wanda replies: Not that I know of but I hear 90210 will.

-stogy69 asks: Isn't Kevin Williamson supposed to have a new series next year?
Wanda replies: Yes. This time, he tackles the twentysomethings in Wasteland (an ABC one hour drama). He's just cast the first star who I can't say but I can tell you that she's so beautiful, she makes your jaw drop.

-iluvtv2 asks: I still want to know how Abby dies and when?
Wanda replies: Well, okay. Joey enlists the help of her friends for the first big Ice House catering gig which is a wedding. Abby and Jen (reunited friends) crash the soiree crusing for booze. Instead, they find Andie and after a catfight, go off to the docks where Abby hits her head and drowns. Good news though--Monica Keena is alive and well and just signed on for the title role (oppostie former Melrose Place Doug Savant) in a TBS political thriller entitled First Daughter.

FOLLOW YOUR HEART - Dawson's (James Van Der Beek) confidence as a filmmaker is shaken when his new teacher (guest star Madchen Amick, ``Twin Peaks,'' ``Fantasy Island'') turns out to be a movie studio executive on sabbatical in Capeside and tells Dawson the painful truth about his amateur movie. The future is unsure for Joey (Katie Holmes) as well, when a fortune teller (guest star Rebecca Koon) advises her to be open to every new opportunity that crosses her path, and she stumbles into Colin (guest star Nick Stabile, ``Sunset Beach''), a gorgeous photographer who brings out Joey's free-spirited side during a wild photo shoot. Episode Airs on March 10th, Its Episode #17. I've personally heard that Colin (The guest star) may be paying more attention to Jack than Joey (RUMOUR ONLY)

From TV Guide: (March 3rd Episode)
Hoping to drown their mutual sorrows, first time drinkers Dawson and Andie make a mess of Joey's surprise 16th birthday party (for Dawson), who goes on the attack once among his friends and family. Meanwhile, Ty uses words that hurt to explain his attraction to Jen; and Abby sets her sights on Capeside's most ineligible bachelor, Jack. It's a surprise party for Dawson. But his birthday wish will shock everyone. Rumor has it-Dawson tries to kiss a certain brunette.....What do you think will happen between them when he tries to kiss her?

It looks like the Dawsons Creek Soundtrack may finally hit the shelves in April of this year. After a failed release date of October of last year; it looks as though this might be the best time to let it out. Songs for this are kept quiet as of yet, but will be passed onto you when I receive them.

Katie will be appearing on the April issue of JUMP magazine.

  Katie's Latest Movie Review
Go, directed by Doug Liman (his debut was the fabulous Swingers) is a lively , entertaining take on the old-by-now Quentin Tarantino-esque story about get-rich-quick scammers who get in over their heads. When Ronna (Polley), a flat-broke grocery-store cashier, realizes she's facing eviction, she hatches a plan to buy 20 hits of ecstasy and resell them at a profit. Of course, that scheme goes very, very wrong: Ronna winds up unconscious in a ditch, while her friend (Holmes) is held hostage by the drug dealer. In intertwining sub-plots, a coworker of the girls has an equally violent adventure in Las Vegas, and two soap opera actors (Jay Mohr and Scott Wolf), busted on a minor drug charge, are forced to play the parts of a lifetime. Despite its few inplausibilities, do not--repeat do not--Pass Go, especially if you like your movies hip, fresh, and fast.

Winter may finally show up in Capeside in the next few episodes, but I will only believe that when I see it.

February 22nd, 1999

Katie's character in Wonder Boys is Hannah Green (the sexy young student renting a room at Michael Douglas's character's house.) Wonder Boys was written by Michael Chabon and the part of Hannah Green is not that big. I don't know how different the role in the script is compared to the book so we might be surprised, who knows? The other role you were referring to (19 year old student) is played by Toby Maguire. I think it's going to be a good movie...a definite step up from Disturbing Behavior.

This week, will be a Dawson's Creek Repeat in the US. Chances are it will be the "All-Nighter" Episode. Here in Canada it will be Jack officially coming out, like Kevin (see below).

Filming is wrapping up for the end of the season. Word is that their is only 2 episodes left to complete and Britney Spears is not in either of them. With her time restraints and schedule, she may appear in the 3rd season, keep your fingers crossed.

Mariel Hemmingway has been signed for the lead role in the TBS Movie "First Daughter", a political thriller co-starring Doug Savant ("Melrose Place') and Monica Kenna ("Dawson's Creek"). Hemmingway will play a Secret Service agent. From Abby Morgan to Chelsea Clinton ???

If you have not heard already, here it is! Creator Kevin Williamson (Dawsons Creek, Scream, etc) has also come out of the closet. He expressed it through his writing, and that is why he portrayed Jack like that. Quote "I'm a workaholic, so I never did 'The Advocate' cover route because I wanted to speak through my work."

February 14th, 1999

Joshua Jackson is scheduled to be on both Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Rosie O'Donnell Show this coming Wednesday, February 17, 1999.

  March 3rd, 1999
"Be Careful What You Wish For"

SINGIN' THE BLUES - On the eve of Dawson's sixteenth birthday, Dawson Pacey and Andie follow her therapist's advice and throw themselves into an unabashed night of recklessness and the blues. Meanwhile, back at the Leery house, Joey is organizing a surprise party for Dawson, but the longer the guest of honor is a no show, the more she is subject to surprises of her own; Jen and Ty face up to the their potentially irreconcilable differences; and Gale (and Mitch come to decisions about how to raise their son in light of their separation.

  Oh Yeah! Happy Valentines Day!!!

Britney Spears will appear on Dawsons Creek, but as of yet there is no set date. She also stated that she wanted to portray a nice girl and wasn't sure whom she would like to have a kissing scence with. From MTV.

February 9th, 1999

MUST READ - MAJOR NEWS!!! Abby Morgan will die on Dawsons Creek! This is how it all goes down, really. Her and Jen attend a wedding and they get too drunk, so they are asked to leave the wedding and Abby grabs a bottle of alcohol to take with her. Jen and her are on the pier and Abby somehow falls off in the creek. Jen jumps in after her but she's too late - Abby drowned.

How does everyone react to Abby death? Jen eulogizes Abby at the funeral but she gets a little carried away. Grams storms out in shame and then kicks Jen out the house. She moves into Dawson's room.

What's the latest news with Dawson's Creek? Joey's dad returns and really freaks her out so of course, with Jack's urging, she goes back into the arms of Dawson, they kiss but just when you think things are about to get hot and heavy, they find Jen crying in Dawson's room with the news that Abby has died.

February 8th, 1999

This is a quote from People Magazine - "I can guarantee you it will probably happen during the sweeps, that's about all I know."- JVB on when his character will lose his virginity.

Some questions for Wanda at E! Online

I'm sure you must be getting sick of this question, but have you heard anything about who dies on DC yet?
Wanda replies: Yes and yes but I just can't say yet.

Who will help Jack get through his coming out, anyone?
Wanda replies: Pacey will be truly inspiring and suprisingly, Grams will be a source of comfort.

Do you mean Jenn's grams? How does he know her?
Wanda replies: Come on. You have to be just a little surprised.

Is it true that Nick Stabile will play Jack?
Wanda replies: It's true that he'll play Jack's possible love interest, if that's what you mean. From what I understand he'll be a guy Joey knows and likes but it turns out he's got his eyes on Jack.

Will Pacey and Andie be together the whole season or will there be trouble for them?
Wanda replies: Trouble.

He has caused much controversy on "Dawson's Creek" as Joey's (Katie Holmes) new boyfriend in recent weeks. On Wednesday's episode, a secret about his character's past comes out. UltimateTV chats with Kerr Smith Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. (ET)/ 4 p.m. (PT). He will bechatting live in our Ultimate TV Chat rooms. This ties in to his bigsecretbeing revealed the following night to and changing the lives of many inCapeside forever. The address to access thechat is . Hope to see everyone there.

It looks like Joshua Jackson will be appearing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on February 17, 1999. The show follows "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. The last time he was scheduled he no showed, what will happen this time?

February 1st, 1999

Rachel Leigh Cook will be in this Weeks episode on Feruary 3rd, 1999. In the episode titled "His Leading Lady'', Cook mesmerizes Dawson (James Van Der Beek) with her audition for the lead in his autobiographical film.

Katie on the latest cover of Life Magaizine!

Jack's Father is coming to Capeside soon. He arrives just in time for Jack's character to slowly reveal his sexual preferences. His father will go off the deep end so to speak, and try to confuse us even more. He will be totally against it. Jack's father will look nice, but he isn't. Obviously, since we learned he abandoned the family when Jack's older brother died and Mr. McPhee's wife went nuts.

January 25th, 1999

To be aired on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10
Title: ``To Be Or Not To Be...''

REVELATIONS - In a compelling two-part episode, the Capeside High School gossip mill kicks into overdrive after Jack (Kerr Smith) bears his soul in a English assignment and is forced to expose his innermost secrets while reading the poem aloud in class, leaving Dawson (James Van Der Beek), Joey (Katie Holmes) and Andie (Meredith Monroe) shaken by the implications of what it all means. Meanwhile, Pacey (Joshua Jackson) tries to defend Jack in the face of an adversarial teacher, and Jen (Michelle Williams) finds her latest suitor Ty (guest star Eddie Mills) is full of surprises.

As you all know by know (Canadians only), The cast of Dawsons Creek is on this weeks cover of TV Guide (Dawson on one cover, Joey on another, Pacey on the next one, and Jen on the last, 4 of 4 covers this week, same story). It is pretty much the same setup as the ones done is the US last spring.

  From Hollywood Reporter
Paramount's "Varsity Blues" was in the top spot at the boxoffice for the second consecutive weekend, touching down with an estimated $10.6 million. Universal's "Patch Adams" was second with an estimated $8.1 million, Buena Vista's "A Civil Action" was third with roughly $7.6 million.

Brittany Spears to appear on Dawsons Creek. She will play a relative of one of the main characters, my assumption is Jen. She will no doubt show up, look around, stake her territory and cause problems.

January 20th, 1999

Airing WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3rd on the WB!

``DAWSON'S CREEK'' - ``His Leading Lady''
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! - Dawson (James Van Der Beek) and Joey (Katie Holmes) continue struggling to redefine their post-break up friendship, while Dawson desperately searches for a leading lady for his film who can capture Joey's distinct, unattainable style, but when he finally finds his girl (guest star Rachael Leigh Cook), she may be more than he can handle. Meanwhile, Pacey (Joshua Jackson) tries to be supportive of Andie's (Meredith Monroe) precarious emotional state, but his earnest desire to help only places additional stress on her already full plate, and sparks fly when Jen (Michelle Williams) befriends an intriguing stranger (guest star Eddie Miles).

No one had sex in the last episode. Just a lot of noise for nothing!

Sorry for the lack of updates, been working on a tournament all last week.

January 13th, 1999

Dawsons Creek.com has updated their music section. It now includes all the music of Season 2!

New episodes begin tonight on the WB! Tomorrow night on Global may be a rerun, like last years Season Finale I think. Then the following week, it will be a new one.

I am wondering again, remember when Dawson and Jen went skinnydipping a month ago. Well, It was about 2 weeks before Christmas, and North Carolina was in the middle of a cold week. Something is not right?

January 11th, 1999

James will be hosting Saturday Night Live! He'll host one week from Saturday which will be the 16th.

"Dawson's Creek" star Michelle Williams has joined the cast of the comedy flick "But I Am a Cheerleader." The film also stars Natasha Lyonne and VH1's RuPaul, and is about a 17-year-old high- school cheerleader (Lyonne) who is sent to a homosexual rehab camp when her parents think she may be a lesbian.

Check out Katie's new movie 'Go' through this trailer!

  "Sex, She Wrote" (airdate:Jan. 20, 1998)
Abby (Monica Keena) finds a sexy, discarded love letter and sets forth to find the author; Dawson's (James Van Der Beek) script revisions cause rumors to fly; Pacey (Joshua Jackson) gives Andie (Meredith Monroe) the cold shoulder. With Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes and Kerr Smith.

Katie will be starring in a new movie with Michael Douglas. Shooting starts in Pennsylvania later this month. Also in the film is Frances McDormand, Robert Downey Jr., and it is directed by Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential).

  From Spin Magazine, February 1999.
From the article - "A Blizzard of White Panties, Celebrating Nearly Fifty Years of Awesomely Shameless Teen Entertainment."
Dawson's Creek -- TV's most existential teens go head-to-head with 90210 in the coveted Wednesday prime-time slot. Fancy words, all real racks, and heavy-petting parents aside, how do they compare? Pacey, who lost his virginity on his teacher's desk, does the least amount of soul searching (Dylan + Steve). Jennifer, supposed former slut, is the voluptuous transfer student girls don't like (Kelly + Valerie). Dawson is driven, dry, and has distracting hair (Andrea + Brandon). And Joey? Well, she's poor like Brenda. LEGACY: Making the WB a playa.

There is a new article from this weeks TV Guide on the Interviews & Articles page!

Dawson's Creek was up for an award at the Peoples Choice Awards as the "BEST NEW DRAMATIC SERIES". There competition was Felicity and L.A. Doctors. L.A. Doctors took the vote as the Peoples Choice, but DC had the greatest crowd response.

January 5th, 1999

Concentration Game starring the Cast of Dawsons Creek (Java Enabled)

  Magazine Spoilers

From Soap Opera Digest: Leann Hunley (Tamara Jacobs) may be returning again. There is also some stir as to how they will connect Joey and Jacks Family. From Teen People: Jen will start to hang around Abby again in the next few weeks (Not sure why?). Pacey will be getting a large amount of screen time in the time being, to explore his past, his family and everything else.

Remember awhile ago, I said that Pacey and Andie buy some condoms. Well, finally someone else gives it a little nudge of approval. Wanda at E! Online reveals that Andie has a special dream about her perfect date. And it involves, sex after the date is over. Well, Pacey makes it come true including the end.

We see the bedroom but it fades out to black leaving us with the assumption. I think that it will play out in episode 13.

Dawson's life will no longer be the fairy tale it's been in the past. Tell me another one.

Katie just finished up her latest movie "Go", and it should be out later on this year. Katie has a sex scene with Timothy Olyphant (lucky guy).

Apparently now, Sarah Michelle Gellar will not be appearing on an upcoming episode of Dawsons Creek. It turns out that Joshua Jackson likes to play pranks and word spread around the set and onto the net.

Rachel Leigh Cook will be the lady to star opposite Dawson in his next movie, Jen may get bumped. Her stage name will be Devon, and she has a major crush on Dawson, as will Dawson eventually (stop thinking now)!

When Jack comes out of the closet, his father comes to Capeside. Jack's dad will be pissed off because of Jack's sexuality.

Dawsons Creek will return with a new episode on January 13the, 1999. For us here in Canada, probably a week later considering that Global put "The Election" episode on Christmas Eve (Weird!). Who watched it? This is from some US station - "Horrifically epic" tryouts for his movie prompt a steamy dialogue between Dawson and Jen that could recast her role in his love life; Joey feels herself drawn toward intimacy when Jack (Kerr Smith) exposes more than his body while posing nude for her; and Pacey sets out to fulfill Andie's dream date---and maybe a fantasy of his own.

As reported months ago, Josh and Katie are no longer dating. It was only a short fling, plus now Josh and James have separate pads. They used to rent the same apartment during the first season.

James Van Der Beek will be chating live on Friday at 6:00pm ET on AOL.

DECEMBER 31st, 1998

The last entry of 1998, WOW! What A Great Year!!!

From December 18 to 25, UltimateTV asked its readers, "What is the top show of 1998?" It didn't take long to find out!

The response was overwhelming. While some of television's top shows received support, the top finishers included some real surprises. Among the networks, The WB had three shows place in the top ten, while NBC, ABC and FOX had two. CBS landed one show, while UPN failed to land a top ten show.

10. Simpsons
9. Felicity
8. ER
7. Cupid
6. The Practice
5. JAG
4. The Pretender
*3. Dawson's Creek
2. The X-Files
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Call it the ultimate teen sudser. Call it the prettiest show on TV. Call it what you will, but the adventures of earnest Dawson, lovely Joey, insecure Jenn and wiseacre Pacey entice UltimateTV users. This show is considered a must-see by many teen viewers, and after watching an episode or two, you may just find yourself hooked as well
Umm, you can say that again. I got hooked in the first 5 minutes of the Pilot!

How many episodes will Rachael Leigh Cook be in? She's will appear in three right now.

When is the "Sex, She Wrote" episode? It comes after the next episode, which is called "High Risk Behavior."

When will Joey & Dawson get back together? Not for a while, but Jen will get a man.

DECEMBER 27, 1998

Varsity Blues Official Website, starring James Van Der Beek (Dawson), opens January 15th 1999!

For the week of December 14th-December 20th, Dawson's Creek bounced back from it's 94th place from the previous week and landed in the 87th place out of 129 shows. It scored a 4.5/7 household rating and share with nearly 4,520,000 million people tuning in to see Dawson go skinny dipping with Jen, Andie's secret come out and the discovery of Dawson's parents pending divorce among other events in the episode.

Question: I have a question about Dawson's Creek. Did I totally miss the episode when Bessie's boyfriend left the show? How did he leave and if he's not gone, where has he been lately?
Answer: Bessie's boyfriend, Bodie, who is the father of her baby, is simply not around anymore. "Bodie took a job in another part of the city," speculates Julie Kingsdale, Creek's publicist. But regardless of where he might be, Kingsdale says, "We won't see him anymore, as far as I know."

Question: It's rumored none of the Dawson's Creek characters will be virgins after this season. What about Jack?
Answer: The rumour is not true.

It's been confirmed by Rachel Leigh Cook's "Officially endorsed fan site" that she will be appearing in DC episode #213, and from what information has been gathered thus far, her character will play a highly vampish individual that will make Abby look like Mother Teresa. She'll have her eyes on Dawson and will despise Joey since Dawson's heart still belongs to her.

Spoilers for episode 15, "Sex, She Wrote." Get ready for one hot and heavy DC when Abby finds a letter that's all about having sex. She thinks one of the gang wrote it and sets off to solve the mystery of which couple is doing the deed. Joey and Dawson make love in that episode, and some of the scenes were SO HOT it had to be recut twice just to make the censors happy.

All of the Dawson's Creek actors and actresses have signed for at least 5 years contracts.

Jennifer Love Hewitt ("Party of Five') will co-host "MTV's New Years Eve Live" on Dec. 31 from New York's Times Square. Along with MTV's Carson Daly, Hewitt will introduce musical guests including Green Day and Method Man, and celeb visitors like "Dawson's Creek" star Katie Holmes. The show airs at 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT) and runs until 12:30 a.m.

DECEMBER 19, 1998

Just got my office copy of Entertainment Weekly and the cover is the Best and Worst of '98 and there's a 2 page spread of the "Women of the WB" and they're number 3 or 4. There's an awesome picture of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams, and many more women of the WB followed by a 2 page article on the women. They are all wearing coursets and there is a lot of cleavage in the picture. Katie and a few others aren't showing very much but Michelle and Alyssa Milano from Charmed are hanging out the most.

DECEMBER 12, 1998

  KATIE'S BIRTHDAY IS THIS FRIDAY!!!!

Andie's runs for student council but it gets her on a campaign trail of tears when the opposition Abby and Chris (Monica Keena, Jason Behr) sling her private dirt to rock the vote. Meanwhile, Jen helps Dawson take steps to deal with his powerlessness over his parents' spilt; and Jack shuts Joey out after a family crisis threatens to claim another McPhee.

"Sex She Wrote" is going to air sometime in late January/early February.

Check out Ultimate TV's PromoLounge for the WB Network, Dawsons Creek is there.

If you like to read, the newest DC's books will be coming out shortly. Book #4 is called "Major Meltdown". What is there to do during a cold, rainy winter in Capeside? Nothing! So Dawson, Joey, Pacey and Jen decide to go on a weekend ski trip to Vermont. Jen thinks this will be a perfect opportunity to rekindle things with Dawson, but he's got Joey on his mind. Meanwhile, Joey is playing the field with not one but two hunky ski guys and Pacey is starting a relationship with a local singer. But what will happen when its time to pack up and go home?

and book #5 is called "Double Exposure", The Icehouse is in serious need of funds, so Joey takes matters into her own hands and finds work as an underwear model, confiding only in Pacey. But things get out of hand when photos of Joey appear on the internet!
Both are due out this winter...

Dawson's Creek finished 92nd for the week of November 30th-December 6th with a household rating and share of 3.6/6 and a average of 3,630,000 million people tuning in.

Dawson's Creek garnered a 3.6/6 Household eating/share at 8:00 pm airing against an original Beverly Hills, 90210 (7.7/12), which was actually down a share point versus its last episode despite the decreased competition (referring to 90210 being down-not DC)Dawson's Creek achieved a 2.5/7 among women 18-34, just two-tenths of a rating point off NBC's Christmas at Rockerfeller Center, and also performed well among adults 18-34 (2.2/7) topping the NBC Christmas Special. The program also defeated NBC among men 18-34 (1.9/6 vs. 1.6/5) and Persons 12-34 (3.2/10 vs. 2.0/6) Dawson's Creek ranked #1 for the night among teens 12-17 (6.2/20) and female teens (9.0/28).

WB's "Dawson's Creek" will heat up in the cold month of January when one of the characters poses nude. According to USA Today, one the newcomers to the "Dawson's" cast, Kerr Smith, will be in the buff after he volunteers to sit without clothes for Joey's (Katie Holmes) art-class drawing. The show's producer assured the scene will be done "tastefully," and the episode will also reveal new couples between the characters.

  Episode 11
Instead of Joey/Dawson we will get Jen and Dawson. We'll get Jack and Joey...with a possibility of Pacey thrown in. Andie will be off on her own adventure...being a basket case (or so I'm told). This episode will basically be just the couples you wouldn't expect to be. This episode will have couples together.

DECEMBER 8, 1998

On a recent transcript brought to you by TV Guide's chat with Dawson's TV Mom. She revealed that Pacey's Dad will show up in Episode 12. The boys go fishing or are in a fishing tournament!

The New Soap Opera Digest is out and Dawsons Creek is in 4 sections

Page 45 - Romance Report : Breakdown of Dawson and Joey
Page 62 - Classic Lines - Line by Andie
Page 72 - Katie Holmes in December Birthdays
Page 87 - Prime Time Report on Kerr Smith (And Luke Perry)

Just thought you would like to know, the Romance Report is nice

Episode 10 - Dawson and Jen make-out (its just for a MOVIE, not actual making out). Jack spills soda on Joey's new drawing and therefore in conclusion offers for her to paint him nude. Andie and Pacey are going to go shopping. But, what they buy is a shock to some. I didn't think Andie moved that fast. Condoms.

Andie does indeed take Prozac. Just not from a doctor. You've seen hints at what she is like when she loses control, well triple that.

There's a article in today's (December 8th) Daily EW news about Dawson's script that he's working on. The article mentions that the script found on the Desktop is the same one that Dawson will be referring to on upcoming episodes.

The fishing episode: it will be a father/son tournament and Dawson and his father will have a talk *again*. This time it'll be about the seperation of Mitch and Gaile and Mitch moving on to someone else. Pacey and his father, on the other hand will have a terrible time. Paceys father feels since he is cheif of police he NEEDS to win, and since Doug is out of town he has to rely on Pacey. Pacey knows he is the second choice and that his father would rather go alone, but in the rules he has to be with his son. Who wins? I'll leave that as a suprise. Jack and Andie's father cannot make it, so Jack and Joey have a bonding moment of their own where Jack confides what he feels about his brothers death and it's effect on the family.

Katie Holmes appears in the Calendar section of this month's Disney Adventures. James Van Der Beek and Katie appear in the new issue of Us magazine.

Here are some scenes that never aired on "The Dance" episode that aired a few weeks back...

-Abby shows up at the Dance and sticks gum in Kristy's hair.
-Abby insults Pacey's dance skills and that's why he orginally turned Andie down when she asked him to dance with her.
-Dawson dedicates a song to Joey at the Dance.
-Jack kisses Joey at the dance and Dawson sees this and that's when Dawson punches Jack out.
-Jen distracts Dawson right before Jack kisses Joey.
-The ladder wasn't supposed to be put back up so soon. It was supposed to be a momumental event symbolizing that Dawson and Joey were about to get back together.

DECEMBER 3, 1998

Dawson and Joey will sorta get back together in Episode 13, but now I'm hearing that they will just begin to re-kindle the bright flame. The 13th Episode as it stands now, will be where Dawson and Joey (mostly Joey) realize what she has done, and try to get Dawson back. Pacey will get involved in this, not sure how though...

Wanda at E! Online leaked out some information that Jack's character, played by Kerr Smith will be revealed as gay. This will shock Capeside, especially Joey, Dawson, Jen and the crew. When this happens I am not sure, because I have not heard of any set timeline yet...

Word is that Andie is on something, and I dont mean Pacey (well, sorta), but because she is taking Prozac. Prozac is an anti-depressant drug.

  Episode 12 - Unchartered Waters
It appears the very basic storyline I have right now is that the "boys" of Capeside will go on a little fishing adventure in the creek. I'm guessing it will be Pacey and Dawson, but what about Jack? Could this be where they find out that Jack is gay?

There may be some more additions to the cast, Mitch may get a girfriend; while his wife may have Bob back in the picture (the news anchor that she works with). Also a few new teachers may take to the stands.....

Seeings how Joey won't help Dawson on his new movie; he gets Jen to play the part of Sammy (Dawson's version of Joey), Dawson is "Wade" in the film. The scenes that Dawson and Jen have together is the two of them making out...but its all acting. The scene has Dawson climbing into Jen's bedroom. Jen says "Dawson, What are you doing here." Then Dawson says "I have been thinking about what you said earlier". Dawson says something about love and fate. Then they makeout (Jen and Dawson).
This is also the 10th Episode, remember that this is the episode where Jack is painted by Joey (nude)...

The People's Choice awards are online now at CBS.com to be aired on Jan. 10, 1999. Go to FAVORITE NEW TELEVISION DRAMATIC SERIES ``Dawson's Creek,'' ``Felicity,'' ``L.A. Doctors'' ; and choose DC!!!

Episode 12 is called "Uncharted Waters.

This article is from the Toledo Blade. Katie was the Grand Marshall at the parade.

  Last weeks Ratings
Dawson's Creek finished 73rd for the week out of 110 shows with a Total Household rating of 4.4/8 and a average of 4,370,000 million people tuning into watching "Reluctant Hero"

November 29th, 1998

Vote for Katie Holmes here, in Entertainment Weeklys Top Hollywood Actress!!!

Dawson is making another movie, just when you thought the writers had totally forgotten about Dawson's movie making its back into a MAJOR story in the show. See, as Dawson said in this week's episode (Reluctant Hero) he is going to make a new movie, a love story based on him and Joey with the money he got from the Film Festival. Well, guess who is going to work on it with him? Jennifer Linley will help!

Hey, venture over to Sony.com and you will see the cast of DC on their main page!!!

Well folks, the writers like to change things on us. Remember, how I reported that there would be some nude painting going on this season? That scene is back on for Episode 10! Jack and Joey) are talking, and Jack being the goof he is; spills soda all over Joey's painting. Jack feels so bad he offers to help her with her next painting and suggests she paint him nude. She is embarrassed, but she agress... Once rumors of this get around school, Dawson is pretty ticked off and this where the 2nd Punch meets Jack's face.

There is another scandal coming to Capeside. But this has nothing to do with Pacey. I've been told that it may just involve the other "main" creekers (Joey, Dawson and Jen). It will show up in January / February, during the sweeps period.

   DC Episode 209, December 16th, 1998
THE POLITICS OF HIGH SCHOOL:
Joey (Katie Holmes) joins Andie (Meredith Monroe) and Pacey's (Joshua Jackson) crusade to bring decency back to politics in the sophomore class election, but when their opponent Abby (Monica Keena) throws down the gauntlet by insulting Joey's father anddigging up Andie's dark family history, there is no telling how ugly things oculd get. Meanwhile, Dawson (James Van Der Beek) whose screenwriting is suffering from his adult perspective, hestitantlyaccepts Jen's (Michelle Williams) tantalizing offer to help him experiance the dark pain and exhilaration that comes with being ateenager, while Mitch (John Wesley Shipp) and Gale (Mary Margaret Humes) use a plumbing emergency as an excuse to rekindle their amorous furniture fetish.

   THE RELUCTANT HERO (from WB)
CAN'T WIN FOR LOSING - Dawson's (James Van Der Beek) movie wins a prestigious film festival award, but his first major accomplishment as a filmmaker is overshadowed by the disintegration of his personal life, as Joey (Katie Holmes) continues to pull away, his dad (John Wesley Shipp) gets his own apartment and Jen (Michelle Williams) spirals out of control. Meanwhile, Pacey (Joshua Jackson) has nowhere to go but up after his guidance counselor paints a bleak picture of his future, but in a moment of crisis, a newly focused and inspired Pacey rises to the occasion and proves that Andie's (Meredith Monroe) belief in him is well-founded.

The teen-twentysomething rivalry between FOX and The WB was handily won by FOX shows. At 8, Luke Perry and "Beverly Hills 90210" easily beat rival "Dawson's Creek," 8.9/14 (7.7/12) to a 5.7/9 (6.3/10). In the 9 PM hour, "Party of Five" took the popular new "Charmed," 8.4/13 (8.1/12) to a 5.9/9 (6.2/9 ).
Meaning that the Luke Perry come-back episode won with a 8.9/14 while the weeks episode of Dawson's Creek had a 5.7/9.

Game at Dawsons Creek, may not work on some systems.

My take on the change in behavior from Joey in "Tamara's Return" was that she finally realized that her entire world revolves around Dawson and that she has no interests other than Dawson's interests (particularly filmaking). Joey realizes that for her to develop her own intersts she needs her own space and interact with people other than Dawson. Since we all know that the show would be boring if they match the star-crossed lovers so early in show. I think that these two characters need to develop if we want them to end up together at the end. So at least the writers break them up in an intelligent way. Although I must admit I will miss those romantic 'Dawson and Joey' moments.

The Dawson Creek quad might be appearing in some new Gap commercials!! **Be Watching** The J.Crew ads were great, I'm sure these will turn out great also!!

The Dawson Creek members get around $20,000 per episode. It costs about $1.4 million to make each episode.

Here is a picture of Katie and her mom, taken from the Emmy's.

Vanity Fair December(Ewan McGregor cover) issue - page 49. Check out Annie Leibovitz's pic of James and Katie (well yeah, they share the page with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar), but we know who the real stars are don't we? As part of of a 1998 Hall of Fame featuring 19 men and 19 women two of those slots are taken up and rather nicely by a perfectly pouty Katie and a pensive James. Very nice pic. The caption reads: "Because as the star-crossed couple on the WB's Dawson's Creek, Katie Holmes and James Van Der Beek have become the Luke and Laura, the Romeo and Juliet, the Joanie and Chachi, of teen-angst soap-opera, their love able to transcend all things yucky.

Enjoy the next few weeks ladies and gents, because in December we go into reruns (right now we are entering the November sweeps period for the networks) ...

FOX's "Beverly Hills 90210" again won the battle against "Dawson's Creek" by generating a 7.7/12 (8.8/13) from 8-9. "Party of Five" averaged an 8.1/12 (8.2/13) at 9.
The WB's "Dawson's Creek" attracted a 6.3/10 (6.0/9 last week) from 8-9 and the red hot "Charmed" had a 6.2/9 (5.8/9 last week) at 9. This week should be interesting as Dylan comes back on 90210 and most people know what goes on in Dawsons Creek....

In the new People Magazine (Sexiest Man Alive 1998 Harrison Ford on the cover), inside on the pull out section called Teen Idols of the 90's, there's a pic of Josh with the caption: Joshua Jackson - Let his Dawson's Creek costar James Van Der Beek have the wholesome market. Jackson, 20, likes his bad-boy image as teacher-bedding Pacey. "I'm the guy you hide from your parents." he says.

Dawson and Joey are right now, rumored to be getting back together as a couple (yes, the making out will happen again) around February.
Why February?
What very romantic "Hallmark" holiday happens in February? Valentine's Day! Of Course...The Writers want them to get back together for a romantic Valentine's day!!!

But I will definitely be hanged if I go any further. {Talks about a gag reel he made on the "Mrs. Tingle" set about who they wanted to have sex with in the cast} . . . but there was nothing going on! If we'd done the same thing on 'Dawson's Creek,' 'Scream' or 'Scream 2'? There might even have been a crew guy involved here or there. But I better stop." pg. 96

The "Beverly Hills 90210" vs. "Dawson's Creek" battle was again won by "90210." "Beverly Hills 90210" had a big night for FOX as Brandon (Jason Priestley) said goodbye, 8.8/13 (7.9/12) from 8-9. "Party of Five" pulled an 8.2/13 (7.3/11) at 9.

DANCE
All the rules change for Capeside's key players in this eventful and heartbreaking episode. For Dawson, there are two tragedies that rock his world. First, he learns the awful truth about the fate of his parents' already rocky marriage. Then at the Homecoming dance, he witnesses a heated moment between Joey and Jack, setting off a chain of events that shatter a lifelong friendship---and a newfound romance. The big night also gives Jen a chance to use Joey's past mistakes to improve her own future, while Pacey tries to open his heart to Andie after he foolishly breaks hersagain.

Abby and Jen are going to be at odds for a little bit longer, especially at the Homecoming dance. Just wait until Abby makes a comment about Jen's dress... Abby is still going to be mad at Jen because of Vincent the fisherman, but life will go on eventually.

   "Dawson's" Gets Jewel
Where will James Van Der Beek's hands be when he sits beneath a full moon next to Katie Holmes with the pop singer Jewel's new single, "Hands," playing in the back ground? Most likely not over his ears. Jewel's song from her new CD "Spirit," scheduled for release November 17, will debut on tonight's episode of "Dawson's Creek." The WB hit is very soundtrack oriented, and even advertises the music from the show at the end of each episode.

Dawson's Creek earned a 4.4/7 Household rating with over 4,400,000 million people watching and finishing 91st for the week. Dawson's Creek dominated Beverly Hills, 90210 among teens 12-17, female teens and male teens. Dawson's Creek ranked third in its time slot among adults 18-34, women 18-34, men 18-34, and Persons 12-34. Dawson's Creek ranked second in its time slot among females 12-34 beating out ABC, NBC, CBS and UPN and finishing behind Fox. Dawson's was also the highest rated WB show for the week, a feat they have held for the past 6 weeks since the season started in September.

It is a harsh change, but it offers valid points. Funny, they spelled "lewd" wrong. I guess anti-creek people are not always very smart.

Dawson's Creek Repudiates Family Values
Kevin Williamson, creator of the movies "Scream" and "Scream II," has created a new primetime television show, Dawson's Creek, which debuted recently on the WB television network. Adolescents are the target audience of the show. Sex is the element used to attract the younger audience, assuming that sex is the primary concern of every teenager.

Hardly a minute passes without some reference to explicit sex and body parts. References to size of genitalia, masturbation, breasts, and lude sex acts are made throughout the show, often mentioned in scenes in which such references don't apply. Even when the taste of food is judged, "orgasmic" is the description of choice. Sex is constantly on the forefront. The envelope isn't merely pushed; it is shoved.

Even more appalling is the development of a physical relationship between one of the students and his teacher. The teacher points out every reason they should not get involved, yet she kisses the 15-year-old anyway. The fact that the relationship is "punishable in a court of law" is mentioned, yet refuted because the teenager claims he is aware of his feelings and in control of his actions. It brings back memories of the recent scandals concerning sexual acts between a teacher and student from last summer. Williamson has glorified pedophilia and the illegal act of teacher-student intimate relations.

Christianity is also attacked in Dawson's Creek. The one Christian character is an elderly, out-of-touch, old-fashioned grandmother. Teenagers just don't believe in God and Christianity, according to Williamson and Paul Stupin, another executive producer. When one character's grandmother tries to coerce her into attending church, she tells her grandmother that she will go when the grandmother says "penis." So the sex theme is consistent. Atheism is the only valid religion in the show.

Finally, no traditional family seems to exist on the show. Dawson's parents appear to be normal and happy, except his mother is having an affair. Another girl, Joey, lives with her pregnant sister and her boyfriend; her mother is dead and her father is in jail for possession of marijuana. Jen, who just moved to town, lives with her grandparents, one of whom is an invalid. So, adults are portrayed as adulterous, in jail, sexually manipulative, or ideologically out-of-touch.

The actors and producers claim this show represents real life. All teenagers constantly think about sex. So the show is supposed to meet them where they are at. But this is circular reasoning: teens will think about sex if it's constantly put in their face, which is what this show succeeds in doing. Higher morals should be expected of teenagers, thus resulting in moral actions.

Action: Write or call the WB network and let them know your feelings about Dawson's Creek.

TV Guide advertises these catch lines:
A Forbidden Kiss, A Tragic Secret, And a Family Torn Apart, The Full Moon reveals everyone's dark side.
Now, what does this all mean? Well basically it means a lot of Dawson/Joey fans are going to be upset. The Forbidden kiss could actually mean two things; that Jack and Joey do kiss and the forbidden kiss mentioned could also have something to do with Dawson. Not quite sure on that, but this episode is leading to the very emotional "The Dance" Episode on November 11th.
I'm still not sure on exactly what Dawson is going to "wreck" in that episode that has kept Joey and Dawson together for so long. Many of the rumors, are not quite filling out, so we will just have to wait and see.

After they breakup (Dawson and Joey), things get a little complicated between two. Dawson talks to Pacey alot and Pacey makes Dawson realize that Joey is just as confused as he is. This gives Dawson hope, and he figures out that he defintely wants her back.
Some of you may remember a "dare kiss" I talked about awhile ago. Where this is where that fits in. The "dare kiss" is something Pacey does to kinda get the ball rolling between Joey and Dawson. Pacey sets up a meeting of sorts for the two, and thats where the whole thing begins to un-fold. Don't get your hopes up to much though...This is NOT where they get back together.

In a future episode, I found some info that would suggest all of the Cast will FINALLY BE TOGETHER! How will this happen? Well, School always brings people together (umm, sure?). Anyways, it will happen just before an English mid-term. Dawson, Joey, Pacey, Andie, Jen and a school stud (guest star Jason Behr?) are stuck together for an all night study session. But, obviously this won't just be all "study". I will try and find out exactly what "tempatations" and "distractions" arouse on the night. (Appearing on November 18th) This would be the episode following "The Dance" episode [where Joey and Dawson are lost and confused, but Pacey & Andie are not).

What is with the theme music, I thought that it was supposed to change to 'Damn'? Anyone have any info on this, my e-mail is on the front page.

``The Dance''
SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME - A secret hangs heavy between Joey (Katie Holmes) and Dawson (James Van Der Beek) as they attend the Homecoming Dance along with Pacey (Joshua Jackson) and Andie (Meredith Monroe), yet the dream of a perfect evening takes a surprising turn as one couple is drawn closer together while the other is bitterly torn apart.

Dawson's Creek finished 87th for the week of October 18th-25th. It earned a 5.1/8 rating with 5,060,000 households watching the show and 7,750,000 million people over the age of 2 watching the episode. For the total number of viewers who watched the episode over the age of 2, Dawson's Creek finished 82nd. It was the highest WB show for last week.

Here is one for those inquiring minds. If you watch last years opening theme song, you will notice that Katie comes in fourth (stars of the show). Now this year, I am assuming because of her star power, she follows James in the opening credits.

As if you didn't know! She's BACK!!! Tamara Jacobs. Also expect Pacey and Tamara to have a pretty emotional reunion. As for Andie / Pacey fans, don't worry. Everything works out for the couple who just seems to have the most sarcastic things to say to one another!

This is also the first time Joey and Jack really communicate with each other outside of the restaurant. Joey gets a new found interest in Art. This is one of the big things, that comes between Joey and Dawson.

WB Network now has their own website...

Also, you may remember the HUGE RUMOR about Joey and Jack painting in the nude? Well, that is mentioned (unless its edited out?). Joey and Jack DON'T really paint in the nude, its just a rumor that Abby and Jen spread around in an attempt to win Dawson Back.

Mitch starts to make his wife Gail think he is having an affair (with Tamara)? Coincidentally, Gail falls for it, hook-line and sinker. So what does Mrs. Leery do? She goes back to the NEWS ANCHOR MAN...Good ol'' Bob. Well guess who gets in the middle this time? Joey (after her and Dawson break up) and once Joey catches them she is FURIOUS. She basically goes off on Gail and when Gail asks if she will tell Dawson about her cheating again...Joey doesn't know what to do. Mrs. Leery and Joey then have a little chat about men (trouble is in the air).

DC MEMBERS NOTABLE QUOTES ON KATIE:

"You could take her picture in the dark and she'd still look good." (Joshua Jackson, Seventeen)
"She's very sweet and unassuming. I don't think she knows how beautiful she is." (James Van Der Beek, People)
"To meet her is to instantly fall under her spell. She is that rare jewel, the real deal. In one word: hypnotic, smart, funny, sweet, shy, boisterous, sneaky, talented, pretty, soulful, sleek, sophisticated, innocent, naïve, comical, womanly, childish, caring, gracious, dependable, nurturing, protective, generous… I could go on." (Kevin Williamson, YM)

In other news, Katie would like to do the following: "I'd like to do some lush, romantic period piece where I get to wear gorgeous costumes. That would be really sexy." (A Fanatic's Guide to Dawson's Creek)

   Fantasy Date: Leonardo DiCaprio

Favorite Drinks: Vanilla latte, Diet coke

Favorite TV shows: "Party of Five", "ER"

Thoughts On Fans: "It's flattering when 13 year olds come up to me. I was the same way. I guess I still am" But it's kind of scary when other 19 year olds look at me funny because they've seen me on TV. I want to say, "I'm normal. I'll be your friend. Be my friend.'" (New York Daily News, 8/6/98)

Last update until after the new season starts...

The title track of the series in now done by Chantal Kreviazuk (sp??), and it is called 'Damn'.

Michelle Williams is dating her Halloween H20 co-star Josh Harnett.

Jack and Joey will be painting themselves in the nude, why I am not sure.

The Big News: Dawson and Joey struggle with the ramifications of their fateful kiss. "All of last season built to the last five seconds of the episode" says executive producer Paul Stupin. "This year, it's all about the consequences of that kiss. Are they a couple now? And what about Jen?"

Who's in: The quartet expands as Dawson's in it's new time period, squares off against Fox's Beverly Hills, 90210. Andie McPhee, whom Stupin calls "a quirky Meg Ryan type" and her older brother, Jack "a kind of still-waters-run-deep guy" --comes to Capeside. Mean while Abby, the bad girl who pushed everyone's buttons in last season's detention episode is back. More Pacey: Joshua Jackson's Pacey, who "functioned largely as Dawson's conscience for most of last year," notes Stupin, will get a more expanded storyline.

Matt says: We're thinking this Creek should be upgraded to a babbling brook, the way these overeducated, overstimulated teens behave. But there's no denying it's an addictive guilty pleasure, packing much more heat thatn its competion, which is so 9021-over.

SUMMER TALENT FLOOD
"Dawson's Creek" creator Kevin Williamson can't quite believe how the young leads of the series --Joshua Jackson, Katie Holmes, James Van Der Beek, and Michelle Williams --have become "little [Robert] De Niros and Meryl Streeps." It happened over the summer when the quartet made movie after movie, after, as Williamson notes, "we'd only done 13 segments of the show. They've all returned to the series as little movie stars," he continues. "I did warn them." I said, 'Watch out, your lives are going to change.' And they said, 'Yeah, right.' But James, who stays on my couch when he comes to L.A., told me recently, 'Wow, were you ever right!' Katie has to hide from people who chase her. They've been asked to leave stores because their presence is causing a commotion. I think all four will be able to handle it," Williamson offers. "But you can see the changes in them --growth has been forced on them. It's most evident in Katie. She has become a young woman, a little Michelle Phieffer --and her role on the series is going to reflect that change."

KATIE HOLMES now has a new mailing address (unconfirmed yet?):

KATIE AT THE EMMYS OVER THE WEEKEND!
Katie is wearing a long-length white dress which is low-cut revealing good cleavage, and her hair is done up in wavy, loose curls of which a few strands are free and covered her face a little bit as she was being interviewed. Here is what was said to Joan Rivers:

Joan: She plays Joey in the hit, hit, hit WB series, Dawson's Creek. What a hit this has become.
Katie: Thank you, yeah, it's so nice to be here.
Joan: Does that mean now that you know you can settle and relax?
Katie: Um...I'm sorry, I didn't even hear that....
Joan: Does that mean now that you'll be able to settle down now a little bit, now that you've had a year or two, where you know what your doing....
Katie: Yeah, exactly. It's nice. Last year we were, we were just down there, we didn't really know what to expect. And then everything just kind of hit, and this year it's like, we kinda know what we're doing, and it's nice to shoot far away. It's pretty fun. We have a good time.
Joan: What did you do in your hiatus?
Katie: I did a move called Disturbing Behavior, a movie called GO, and one called Killing Mrs. Tingle, directed by Kevin Williamson, so I had a good time.
Joan: I saw you first in the Ice Storm, I thought you were wonderful.
Katie: Thank you.
Joan: Tell me who did your dress.
Katie: Batchalee Mishka (Note: I'm not sure of the spelling).
Joan: And the bag? (Joan indicates her purse, which looks like a round ball with flowers on it (not pictures of flowers) suspended by a single wide strip that you hold on to).
Katie: Dickinson and Dickinson. I feel like I'm getting married heheheh (She laughs a beautiful laugh!).
Joan: Do you pick your own clothes, or do you have a designer do them for you?
Katie: I had a designer come with about 30 dresses, and had about 10 of my good friends come and help me decide which one. So...
Joan: What are your next plans? Are you single?
Katie: (Pauses as if she has a little bit of emotion associated with the question) Yeah.
Joan: Dating anybody special, or a....
Katie: No. (Laughs).
Joan: Ok, well, you're on the prowl. Good to see ya.
Katie: Can I say hello to my family?
Joan: Absolutely.
Katie: My family in Toledo, and and in Boston. And everyone in Wilmington.
Joan: All right, got it all in.
Katie: Thank you.
