Delete items completely
Hold down the shift key while you delete the item.

Move the start button
Click on the start button, hit escape, hold down ALT and hit "-".
Either click on move or press "m" then move it with either the keyboard arrows or the mouse.

Delete those pesky arrows on shortcuts
Click on the start menu, click on run, type in "regedit".
click on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, click on LNKFILE, click on IsShortcut, delete this.
click on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, click on PIFFILE, click on IsShortcut, delete this.

F1 - help in almost everything
F2 - rename a file when selected
F3 - search for a file
F5 - refresh / update ALT & ENTER - properites

Shutdown
After installing a program, it usually asks for you to shut down or reboot your system.
Hold down the SHIFT key and hit OK and you won't have to reboot.

Customize the Desktop
Right click any where on the desktop where there is no icon, select properites. Here you can change the background, screensaver, appearance, and display.
